  • “We’re actively seeking talent,” said Buhaly, who is based in the company's Portland office. “They are all open to be filled; it’s a matter of finding the right person.”

He added: "At the growth rate we are experiencing, we are more focused on getting the job done and cherishing the talent that we have in all of our locations," he said. "We're in a very healthy growth cycle right now."

Background: A special selection committee, of eminent scientists and leaders in the field, chose Jonathan Wolfson for his vision to take one of the smallest organisms in the world – microalgae – and use it to revolutionize some of the biggest industries in the world. Solazyme’s revolutionary biotechnology platform enhances the oil-producing nature of microalgae at the cellular level to tailor-make amazing oil profiles that the world has never seen before. Jonathan has positioned Solazyme to succeed across a variety of vertical industries – from skincare to food, from industrials to liquid fuels – with many of the world’s leading brands lining up to co-develop and purchase Solazyme oils, making the company first to market with algae-based ingredients for chemicals and biofuel.

Cramer ABC is not the way to make money long term/ short -term is just gambling

Anything but cellphones is a short-term approach . Not taking advantage of the low price today of QRVO is a mistake. Do the homework ,check the very long-term potential ,the pristine financials, the barriers to entry. IMHO huge potential for revenue and profit gains as well as cost savings. This is a real example of a long-term opportunity.

SCO came to a close early this week, and Oncothyreon Inc (USA) (NASDAQ:ONTY) was this year’s undisputed winner among biotech stocks, gaining 185% between May 13 (when abstracts from the conference were released) and the end of this week. Now, the company is planning a blinded and placebo-controlled phase 2 trial of ONT-380 in combination with Herceptin and Xeloda in HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer patients who have failed both Perjeta and Kadcyla. Given that ONT-380 had been used only as part of two- and three-drug combinations in the current phase 1 trials, this is exactly the kind of trial that needs to be run to understand the HER2 inhibitor’s true effect.

The Obama administration has issued a ruling that all but bans trans fat - killing most uses of an ingredient that has appeared in everything from frozen pizza to Reese's Pieces, but which many studies have linked to heart disease.

Food companies have already reduced their use of trans fat by 85 percent during the past decade. The FDA ruling, which gives the food industry three years to comply, is a win for public health advocates and the Obama administration's broader agenda of nudging Americans toward a healthier diet.

That on July 1 when Buhaly said business is booming and they are looking to hire many good people he did not know things are slowing down in China. Qorvo TQNT /RFMD never make any wild statements when their executives are interviewed . Go back reread the interview and take advantage of the sell off.

I would at least like to hear that these oils are actually being tested by major QSR . Every food producer or retail restaurant is looking for leading edge products that are healthy and not much more expensive. Bunge sales people have access to every major user . It is very hard for big users to change rcipies. It is one thing for these new products to be terrific in the test phase. But going on line is much different and needs plenty of time. But food service operators in hospitals and colleges are usually willing to do the testing and then actually put products they are impressed with right out on the line. With a new fall college season starting in the next 2 weeks I see no reason why one of the universities in California have not agreed to use the flour and oil.

from Amarak and Kellogs today plus the video on Soylent 2 on Amazon IMHO both Bunge and SZYM have a huge opportunity. Buy small amounts and plenty of patience.

Bunge is the definition of high volume production. Do you really think they just sit around and let SZYM run the show ???

Soylent has also begun to incorporate algae into its formula in a big way, using algal oil for half its fat content, The Verge reports. According to Soylent’s website, this is partially a nod toward conservation. By synthesizing algae in bioreactors (rather than traditional farms), Soylent hopes to “conserve enormous quantities of natural resources while providing energy and essential fatty acids.”

Looking for worldwide sales but cannot get to first base in the USA. Not only are they getting no place with FDA but this company is known by every major medical testing device manufacturer in the world. It is obvious that they think this product has no real potential value , evidence is obvious, they have not bought the company. If they thought there is potential they would not wait for FDA but would develop other sales and eventually get FDA approval. Seems these majors really think the market is not really that big or this has no barriers to entry.

The industry knows much more about potential and future than anyone on this message board ,they are not stepping in . Why not ,either they see no potential demand or think the technology has no barriers to entry. They are all looking all over the world for opportunity and not finding it with GTHP

Just read the PR sounds great just like many of the other reports of awards and developments. Very important stuff but some of this brain power must be used to show the investment community how and when all these developments will lead to leading edge profits.

  • The global military satellite market will reach $9.7 billion by 2025, according to a forecast by market research firm Strategic Defense Intelligence. That represents a more than 70 percent increase over today's $5.7 billion market.

ISR satellites will account for 36 percent of the market, followed by communications and then navigational satellites. "Many existing ISR satellites are about to reach the end of their operational life cycle, meaning that leading defense spenders need to replace these satellites in the next five to ten years," said analyst Bharathi Bajaj. "Moreover, satellites are an alternative to expensive UAVs or reconnaissance aircraft, which is also driving growth,"

The U.S. will account for 41 percent of global market share.

In a report issued Tuesday, Mizuho analyst Vijay Rakesh initiated coverage on Qorvo Inc with a Buy rating and a $92 price target. He points out a few tailwinds that position the company for growth: expanding RF content, “incremental BAW filter capacity, a combined PA+Filter product roadmap, and cost synergies.”

Below are the key points to the firm’s investment thesis:

Robust 4G growth in China positions Qorvo well for a strong ramp into the second half of the year, especially as the country moves to 5-mode LTE and marquee handset OEM launches provide seasonality.
New Integrated front ends with in-house filter supply (SAW, TC-SAW and BAW) also bode well for the company, which gained access to these technologies after the merger -- Qorvo is the result of a merger between RF Micro Devices, Inc. NASDAQRFMD and TriQuint Semiconductor NASDAQTQNT.
The other big benefit derived from the merger is the creation of manufacturing cost synergies, which Qorvo can drive “by consolidating front end Gallium Arsenide fabs” and relocating TriQuint’s assembly and test facilities to China, which will also aid margins.
China (which represents roughly ¼ of the company’s mobile revenues) and customer exposure (especially Foxconn and Samsung, which represent almost 50 percent of sales) should be key growth drivers.
Potential for M&A and consolidation within the industry should not be discarded.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
