There's your capitulation on RIG. Over 3 times the volume (I'd say pretty darn Heavy). I'm sure Lots & Lots of G.T.C. orders were fulfilled. Nice drop, after the Long Slow Ride lower from the 50 area.... I'd dare say Capitulation was here today. (now watch it drop another $3 on Monday, Haha jk)
It's amazing how negative issues sprout up, and weeks later, people clammer to be published (ala Seeking Alpha) about all their quote "insightful" - and negative- information about Transocean.. AS IF IT's NEWS. Yet, The News Has Already Been OUT for awhile. They add absolutely No insight at all. The company stock has ALREADY fallen, since January (and late 2013). My God people, you're late to the party of bashing RIG and the oil drillers. *The majority % drop in price has already occurred, from well over $50 - to bouncing around $42.
The company earned $4.11 per share in F.Y. 2013.... not too shabby. Gotta look towards 2014 & 2015 now.
We have a $3.00 dividend soon, Ichan involved, and maybe a M.L.P. coming too.....
with favorable terms to Transocean, and options for more like them..
Not too concerned about this Quarters numbers (or next Quarters).... gotta think Big Picture, Longer-Term..... and I don't think the world is going to stop needing OIL, or stop needing Deepwater Oil drillers (that's where most of the discoveries are being found). just sayin... I know, I know, "long term" for yahoo investors is like 3 weeks (versus 3 years)..
And They're Going to become a tiny, tiny tiny company then as well. And we will stop using Oil, 'cause the World is going to stop needing it,.... and No need to Drill anywhere... got it. Thank you.
It looks like RIG is getting some strength back. We will see... It's up over the 20 day M.Ave. and about to cross over the 25 day M.Ave. But more importantly, it Looks like a bottom May have been formed. time will tell.....
Been a holder for over 10 years. Your only hope (my only hope) ANY Shareholders only hope...... is that these 70+ year old men decide to Sell The Company and Retire.... and hopefully score us $8 to $10 per share. Best of Luck. There has been a TON of "time" and "Opportunity Cost" wasted by investing in this stock.
Any news about the M.L.P. that may be formed (utilized). Or. will we probably have to wait until the Annual Meeting for that stuff. *Note: I noticed in December 2012 it was announced Carl had bought about a 1% interest in RIG, so the fact that he's up to 6% (or more) seems to show he's been buying throughout 2013.
A $3 dividend arriving soon, reducing # on the Board, and maybe a M.L.P. coming too..... good stuff.!
Can You Show Me The Words Backlog Shrinking In This Report. They had new contracts of 44Million Last Month, and new contracts of 66 Million on This Report.
Would you like to hear how their fleet is sinking? going down? hundreds drowning as the crippled fleet slowly tumbles into the ocean? ((or how they were able to sell one rig, in about 1 month,..because there's willing Buyers.))
I don't see your point; (Explain). In my opinion, They Are continually writing/booking new business. A falling Backlog to me seems to say - hey, we are slowly working through (working down) the orders/contracts/revenue that haven't been booked yet. ((Ex: Does a restaurant want a Ton of backlog orders sitting in the kitchen a long time.? No, management wants to get the orders fulfilled & out, to book the sales..... new orders/contracts are continually being signed. And DayRates do not seem to be going down much (if any) from the last two monthly status reports. we will see what March says next month.
Define Backlog here.?? Backlog....as in sales/revenue that still has not been realized.? Why would RIG or any company want or need such a tremendously large Backlog, in a business industry that's mature-secure-and growing.?? Working through (working down) a huge Backlog is a good thing (yes?) - it brings that backlog / delayed revenue onto the books. (yes?) I don't think it's too positive to have a bunch of Backlog - it means to me you have too many orders and cant fill them in a timely manner. (yes?)
From the looks of it: The January status report said the total value of new contracts since December 2013 was + $48 million. Now, the February status report says the total value of new contracts since January is +$66 million. That's A Great Number (yes?) increases from month to month are good (yes?) Day Rates seem FIRM -not decreasing. that's good news too (yes?) *And they sold the GSF Monitor in roughly 1 month. (good news too (yes?)
Ex Dividend tomorrow & a dividend increase soon. The World Demand For Oil Is Increasing - just look at mexico and seadrill signing up 4 (and a 5th soon) of their jack-ups down there. Seems Attractive, we shall see.....
