They still have an operating loss. The "profit" was due to an non-recurring accounting item. When they show that they can turn an operating profit from their core business then the stock will rise. They have made that promise so many times now ("wait until next quarter!") that the street will not believe it until they actually perform. Less

China coal and ore imports are slowing due to their economic troubles and desire to prop up domestic production. Falling demand along with historic high supply means drybulk rates will stay low for years. DRYS can't cover expenses, and is running out of cash.
GE knows this and could inject unlimited funds (as was hinted during the CC) but so far has not done so. That speaks loudly, and the market is reacting.
Also, if GE injects money, it's going to be a buyout, take private deal. The lower the price goes, the easier that becomes to pull off. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy that's happening right now.
Expect another 5% loss today. Less
