Mr Market sure didn't reward Facebook for a stellar quarter. performance meant little. often, financial metrics mean little in comparison to popularity.

    hello justmyho,
great day for PLOW at +2.69% with over 2x trading. prelude?

am now less than $1k down since Sept 15th when i started to get hit. at one point was down 10% my overall stock portolio so am greatly relieved. altho, unlike you, i didn't sell out, i did sell off but reinvested short of 3.3% of portfolio in cash. that's very low and i intend to take cash to 20%. PLOW may become a component of that move.

am loosely following ARR and AGNC and see they are holding their own while distributing great yields. i've also 2 REIT's, those being UHT and OAKS. again, both great income stocks but little growth (altho am at 9.7% capital gain on UHT but have held it for over a year).

someone is a believer in PLOW as shown in volume spike around 1 p.m. EST. let's hope someone knows what's coming for earnings release next week. i intend to hold. if i was light on PLOW, despite my wanting to increase cash position, i would buy.

    Sentiment: Hold

    OAKS indeed a REIT.

yah, not overly happy with ARCC performance to date. altho nice yield (9% based on my buy @ 16.54 PPS) have incurred a 3.9% capital loss at today's close. not too bad considering the overall hit to BDC's. ARCC investment only 10% of MAIN investment. i view ARCC as an income stock, same as MAIN. don't have high expectations as i don't consider either a growth stock.

true, we disagree on much (esp SO's) but i don't focus as much on BDC's as you apparently do. still in all, they play a significant role in my stock portfolio at roughly 26%. most of my holdings in DJI which is why that is my benchmark. i've approx 28% of holdings in NASDAQ - primarily AAPL and FB and am on alert with what with FB now announcing 3Q earnings. Revenue way up but PPS down in after hrs trading. tomorrow may be a good day...

usually you p___ me off but not today. nor this week. i was hit hard and down 10% my stock portfolio since 9-15 and today have finished making those losses back up (excl dividends).

i hope you keep posting as, despite our differences, i value your opinion - which is why i asked. thx for the response.

oh, by-the-by (or is it buy-the-buy?), aren't most of those insider buying trades for MAIN part of their internal incentive/compensation packages?

lastly, i do indeed believe their are insider trades based on insider info. not necessarily directly attributed to MAIN employees but, i saw big time selling prior to SO announcement (as was noted by another poster) and i don't believe in those type coincidences. no way. not that amt and not that close to next day announcement of SO. someone knew, someone told, someone's sold.

    good fortune to us all....

you hit a foul ball here. they've not bought enough planes for my liking and, they should have bought sooner, and direct.

doesn't look like KOSS is going to experience a turnaround anytime soon and i'm afraid even $1.75 PPS won't ever come back - nor will dividends. i too thought KOSS delivered a great product but unfortunately, their management and marketing strategy will not allow them to remain a viable concern. they plummet to share price will continue and earnings, as bad as they are, will continue to slide. you would have seen more volume and more selling but the Koss family has upwards of 80% ownership. not many individual shareholders left and zero institutional owners.

here is the latest Koss news and it isn't good (coming on the heels of another horrible quarter)...

"On October 20, 2014, Koss received a notice from NASDAQ stating that the Company had not met the NASDAQ Global Market listing requirement of maintaining a minimum market value of publicly held shares of $5,000,000 for the past 30 consecutive business days. "

Mikey Koss will try to put a positive spin on that bad news but again, more baloney. the writing is on the wall.

i can't fathom how anyone could think Koss will turn the tide while Mikey Koss remains CEO.

    Sentiment: Strong Sell
