You know, I've actually stopped watching CNBC altogether and I hardly EVER watch any news or read any news on stocks and I'm having the best month in a while. I've lowered expectations, lowered risk. I trade safely and less flashily. I try to think of it as a living and not a lottery ticket but I feel like I have a new lease on life (and sanity) since shutting all the #$%$ out. I still check message boards but I can tell right away which messages are from someone trying to persuade me and I don't even open them, just ignore. It's just sad that so much information is stacked against us and is untrue. It's not like buying 1 share of Coca-Cola in 1925. Today's market will cut your throat and smile
It's sad that people beat up on themselves so much when it comes to stocks. No one 'Broke YOU' You were just being rational given everyone else was LYING. It's on them. Buck up. We've all been there and you're not broken by any means!
I don't know. LOL when I try it it just goes up up. Maybe I should and that'll drive it up. But seriously... I can never make this call at least not with PGH lately. Also, my shares are old (and at a loss) if I buy back it's a wash... though I guess only till further on down the line. I'll see what happens tomorrow. If we continue to go up I may sell a block. I have many blocks to choose from
I wonder if I should sell today and then hope to buy back lower. Never seems to go my way when I try it... but it might make sense.
I know, LOL, it's like listening to my own brain... doesn't do me any good and certainly not worth making a show over. He's just another schmuck
I used to like him but now the very sight of him makes me sick to my stomach. He's the worst of the worst. No words for this guy other than retire already
here and there. I've never tried trading a utility. What generally moves Utility stocks? Is it linked to any specific thing in the market besides the obvious?
luckily only 13 of my shares stopped out - may have to hold this now. I felt certain the price would drop drastically after .99 news. oh well, i'll take it
I gotta agree here cause I bought these shares wayyyy higher than 58.00 - it's ridiculous. I'm thinking the way to go in the market is to swing-trade and nothing else. Holding long seems to get me no where. The only stock I've held long that's paid off is PBA and I think it might pay off again so I'm going to keep it. This one, I feel I should sell for now. I have it on margin so it's just dragging my portfolio down for very little return. It's depressing. My Father owned this which is why I bought it. But things are different now.
!!!!! not for this quarter, for this quarter it's 1.68% which doesn't make it worth holding in my situation. Unfortunately, I gotta let it go and hope to buy it back lower
If you don't own it already and you buy it on exdivi you won't get the dividend (you're EXcluded) if you already own it you CAN sell it on ex-divi date and still get it. Cause that means you own it on the 7th which is 3 days before record date.
