Well, I'm coming up on a year of freedom from Satan's Asshole. Things aren't getting any better back at the hole from what I hear. I'm starting my new life and continuing my HP boycott. Can't wait to run out of ink and buy that new Canon.

I would bet there could be a good case of financial duress to force people to sign for the money knowing if they don't they get canned anyway with nothing, thus making the agreement void. Were is the ACLU when you need them?

A recent article in the Corvallis Gayzette-Times talked about how HP continues to try to control ex-employees who took the recent VSI package. It talked about ex-employees who bad mouth HP. Well I would never admit to being one of those. I would never tell all I know that I am personally boycotting all HP equipment.(nor would I encourage anyone else to do the same) I wonder how it can be proved in a court of law that I personally affected their profits. It'll be real hard to get any money out of me, it's all spent or hidden. Oh look martha! there IS life after HP!!!!

Don't be so hard on the libs. That's all they have left, to complain. The tide is against them. They haven't had a decent president since Truman. Just pat them on their heads and do the right thing. Remember, every family has their "special needs" members.

Here's the latest rumors that I've heard from workers past and present from the Corvallis site. 1,000 more layoffs from this site, In a year a TOTAL of 1,200 HP employees at Corvallis, No more HP presence in Corvallis in 2 years. 400 people get the backdoor, no unemployement, or severence pay. This is the payback for keeping HP afloat for the last 20 years. As for me, I'm boycotting all HP products and buying their competitor's stuff. Hello Dell and Canon!

  • neoslipperman by neoslipperman Aug 5, 2005 10:03 PM Flag

Just talked to an unfortunate today who stills works at Satan's asshole. The latest rumor is that they want to lay off 1,000 more from this site and that inside of 2 years this site will no longer be an HP site. Just as I thought while I was still there. Better start sprucing up those high priced houses, there's going to be a fire sale!

  • It is sad to watch a slow and painfull death. It's been going on for about 7 years now. Let's just sell the entire company to the communist chinese, they are doing the majority of our manufacturing anyway, and put all of us on this msg board out of our misery as we watch a once great company slowly descend into oblivion. Get it over with already, my friends that are still there deserve better.

  • neoslipperman by neoslipperman Jul 17, 2005 11:46 PM Flag

Well, It's been 2 months since I've been paroled from Satan's asshole and from what I've been reading on this message board nothing has changed much. Except that I wake up around 7 am or so and putz around the house or maybe go for a m/c ride or whatever else I feel like doing on any given day. Hmmmm, there IS life after HP. Keep an eye out for the death pangs of a once great company. The more it reorganizes, the faster is will die.

we'll see. I've worked other places too. The big difference is that on the outside if someone doesn't like you or is out to get you, you know it because they'll tell you. At HP they smile as they give you the screw job. People are people only at HP they have a veneer of civility. There is life after HP, at least that's what everyone has told me who once worked there.

I'm sure you do appreciate HP's perversity policies. It's probably because you are a sexual deviant. If that sounds "hateful" to you, well sorry. In scientific terms it is a correct statement and to equate homosexual behaviour with hetero shows your biological ignorance.

It is my opinion that 1986 marked the beginning of the decline, that is all.

I am a phony? so where was I for the last 26 years? Sometimes you just know when the times comes to go, and it was time for me. Believe it, or not.

I'm working on that now. Inbetween fixing up the house to sell, getting ready for my daughter's marriage, my marriage, and sorting out piles of TAA paperwork. My stomach is healing nicely! Thanks for the thoughts

99.9% of my evals were very good. Now the system is used to keep your ranking down. I had things put in my eval that where complete falsehoods and told my supervisor so. He refused to remove them. My coworkers upon reading my eval agreed the cooments weren't true. In the past I've had 2 raises in 1 year and then went to no raises for 3 years. Is it me or the new HP. I'll let the remaining old timers decide. I've worked on the first inkjet pen and made many process improvements which are still used to this day so I don't think I'm an uncaring worker.

disgruntled? maybe. dissapointed, absolutely. The only way to get the managments attention is through their pocketbook. That is all they care about. Do not assume that the people who stayed and didn't take VSI are any happier than I am. Maybe, maybe not. There are other considerations as to why someone leaves then whether they love HP or not.

Thanks for the sentiments. My demeaner has definately improved and am looking foward to life after HP. Everyone whom I've ever talked to who used to work here and now is outside says they are happier. Regardless of the braintrust reply above I know this is God's timing for me as I have seen his hand on my life the last 5 years in other areas. The people I have worked with in the past (coworkers, not upper managment) have been great and I call them my friends, but the big guys upstairs haven't a clue. IMHO there are too many females running the company. Just wait till this statement gets out!

ooh, thou does protestith too much. Did I hit a nerve? I wasn't a brown noser. In fact I always got in trouble for having independant thinking. Something not encouraged too much anymore. And judging by your use of colorful metaphors your grasp of the english language is equal to your wit.

I am a hypocrite and a world class phony? And I am not truthfull on top of that? How do you figure? I enjoyed my immediate coworkers (most of them) and also enjoy eating and paying my bills in a town with not many jobs available. Say what you want. I stayed till it was time for me to go, I got the most I could and now I'm gone.
