Do bad guys prefer iPhones? It’s possible, especially since the recent controversy over accessing the iPhones of criminal suspects has shown Apple’s (AAPL) products to be unusually robust against hackers. But the more likely explanation is that the bad guys own Android devices in the same proportion as the general public, and the government is just a lot better at hacking into Android devices than into iPhones.
That would make sense, since Google’s (GOOGL) Android system is open-source software accessible to anybody on the Internet. Open-source software typically encourages widespread adoption and makes it easy for anybody with an interest to develop applications and programs that work in conjunction with the software. Making the Android mobile operating system open-source helped Google become a big player almost overnight, even though Google never built a phone until 2008. (The first BlackBerry arrived in 1999, while the iPod, progenitor of the iPhone, debuted in 2001.==========================================================maybe some proprietary vcsy mle/etc might help........ploinks...........

"So the second natural step in LTE voice evolution is the
introduction of voice over IP (VoIP) over LTE (VoLTE), a
voice telephony solution comprising the IP Multimedia
Subsystem (IMS) and the multimedia telephony (MMTel)
service (GSMA IR.92 ) that delivers voice services over
LTE access. Based on IMS/MMTel, voice services can be
further enriched with video (GSMA IR.94 ) and combined
with several other enhanced IP-based services such as
HD voice, presence, location and Rich Communication
Suite (RCS) additions like instant messaging, video share
and enhanced/shared phonebooks.
This phase also uses a single radio solution in the user’s
device—with cost, size and battery efficiency advantages
over dual radio solutions—with Single Radio Voice Call
Continuity (SRVCC) that seamlessly maintains voice calls
as mobile users move from LTE to non-LTE coverage
areas. Without SRVCC, a VoLTE call on a device moving
out of LTE coverage will be dropped, since no operators
currently support VoIP on 3G.
The third phase of LTE voice evolution—all-IP network—
converges the native power of IP to deliver enhanced
capacity, value-added services (e.g., voice and video over
IP and rich communication services) and interoperability
across network access methods and operators (LTE, 3G/
HSPA, WiFi and legacy telephony domains). "

"Persistent memory capabilities extend beyond non-volatility of stored bits. For instance, the loss of key metadata, such as page table entries or other constructs that translate virtual addresses to physical addresses, may render durable bits non-persistent. In this respect, persistent memory resembles more abstract forms of computer storage, such as file systems. In fact, almost all existing persistent memory technologies implement at least a basic file system that can be used for associating names or identifiers with stored extents, and at a minimum provide file system methods that can be used for naming and allocating such extents."
