That is the first I have heard of anyone being forced into holding 10% stock. I know they announced that 10% was the most anyone could hold in their portfolio.
It has only been a couple of weeks since the changes took place in the plan choices. A significant portion of my account was in funds that were eliminated from the plan. Way too early to tell for sure but I think I would have been better off with the choices we had before. I'm sure I'll give it a few months to see but it may be time to look into rolling it over to another firm, with more choices. I will say that I think the fees at Hewitt seem reasonable.
Yeah, it's really too bad. I believe it will go down again and the opportunity will be there. Last time I held it in my 401 it was 1k shares, bought at low 30s and held for like two years. Got out at 55. The other two times were similar, albeit at lower prices years ago. I'm just a spectator now lol
Sorry, no insight lol. I have seen rumors of sale come and go many times over the last 10-15 years though. I would be surprised to see it happen. No idea where the price is going either. Doesn't matter too much to me any more though. Can't play it with the new 401k rule. Too bad, I made good money on it 3 times over the period mentioned above. Not holding any shares currently.
It hasn't been in the 60s "for a few years." It only made back to 60 a year ago for the first time in over a decade. A "few years ago" it was in the 20s.
Good points all, and the 401k restriction is interesting. They have always used the MAP to dump shares for options selling basically. But, I don't see the company being acquired. I have seen these rumors come and go for more than ten years. Admittedly the signs seem strong this time, but at this price? The company has been much more attractive a couple years ago and no one went near it.
I'm not saying it can't or won't happen, but such rumors occur with some regularity with CSC.
I have no idea what it means really, but if I were to guess I would say strategic might mean pieces to industry players, and PE means private equity. Don't quote me lol
