That is what China, India, Mexico, and the rest of the World is for....to produce for anybody who comes across the US boarder and we make rich? There is no limit to the number of millionaires we can make by printing and handing out $1m bills. A new family of 10 can pool their wealth and be worth $10m, day one!
The answer is simple. More people lose their jobs, but, those still working make more. Workers can pay more taxes. Unemployed go on welfare and eventually stop trying to find work so unemployment rate drops. Govt prints more money to cover increased deficit and prints a few $1B bills to put in the treasury, so national debt is no big deal. Eventually, libs figure out that they can print a $1m bill for everybody within the US boarders and everyone is rich. No one has to work anymore and, therefore, unemployment is 0%. Everybody is happy?
Hey walrat, when I was young the government was talking about the coming ice age. What if my generation had been stupid enough to react to that theory and started compensating by generating extraordinary amounts of greenhouse gases just to warm the Earth. Oooops, that might have been a bad idea. Here is a hint for you, some time in the next 10B years the Earth will most likely become a lifeless rock with very minimal water or atmosphere. In the meantime, you might want to relax and enjoy your lifetime and be suspicious of anything the Government wants to solve by taxes. Have a pleasant 2015.
BHB, You are way ahead of the average person on the GE message board. Money is a poor measure of success. Degrees are a mater of fact and advanced degrees are a necessary step in certain career fields. 'Piled higher and deeper' is an excellent descriptive for many of the Phd's I worked with over a career.
We all live in reality! But, what have you accomplished as a result of your reality? Or at least tell us why it wasn't your fault that you have failed?
neo, you just can't stand it can you? How about your accomplishments? We are waiting....
None of the above.......I am retired, love investing which keeps me on my computer quite a bit of the time, own some GE stock which is how I started reading the message board, and actually give a sht about America's future. Unlike many of the posters on the board, you actually come across as intelligent, which I have said before.
Raised four children, all of whom graduated from major universities.
Graduated from college with a BS, MS, Phd in Engineering.
Performed charity work in Appalachia, back in the days when people weren't gaming the system.
Worked 38 years in Fortune 500 companies......US, Europe, and Asia,
Swam my first mile when I was about 12 years old.
Serious question for Big Hairy? Tell the GE board three accomplishments that you are proud of?
Sorry BHB, but as usual you don't have a clue....! But, why let reality get in the way of some good liberal spin? By the way, why have you libs quit posting about all of the good things your boy and all of his criminal administration are doing for America? Lets stay off topic and talk about trivia.....right? Even BHB/LFL can't bring herself to defend her boy! Sad.......
Takes a lot of patience to move in or out of even a few K shares without moving the market price significantly. Acts a lot like a stock in which current owners want to hold their positions. I think patient longs are going to be impressed in 2015!
Ah, but the executive bonus pool has grown substantially! Plenty of cash since Jeff kicked former American employees and retirees to the curb!
By 'Americans' are you using the traditional definition or the new liberal definition which includes North, South, and Central America....?
Summary Judgment is a long shot for either party, particularly, given the complex nature of this proceeding. A 'partial summary judgment' could be forthcoming on some of the more strait forward points, just to simplify the case. I like PW chances in a legal judgment, but, as I have stated before, civil law can be a funny business. Most cases end up in court unless there is a negotiated agreement between the litigants. Once in court there will be a winner and a loser.
If I am PW, as the defendant, I would go for a 'jury trial'. The David vs Goliath story normally spins well with the average jury. We shall see, shortly!
Looks like investors want to see both move higher! We are ever so close to the magic $20 level for the NRF/MSAM combo. Today is options expiration , so Mr MM won't let $20 go easily!
I don't own SDRL, never have, and don't follow the company. I have never 'touted' the company. Keep tying chen......but you are taking on water fast....
