Here are a few reasons why.
1. One India knows Nokia could just give MSFT the money instead to make up for the plant.
2. Once MSFT takes over India cant block MSFT phone sales so they aren't getting money from them.
3. If the try to force 3.4 Billion then other companies may not want to do business there.
4.If they try to fight they will lose in court. If Nokia did skip out on taxes in 2006 then why wait till now? Also the statuette of tax code are up after 6 yrs I believe.
5. Also if India doesn't get money by end of year they will never see it.
I have had the Nokia 2520 for a week and have enjoyed it so much I bought one for my wife on Sat. The Tablet is a 10 out of 10. But On Sunday my Nokia 2520 jumpped from using only 0.7 GB to 10.5 GB in 2 hours! I called Verizion and they told me, after 3 hours with IT, that it was something on their end but not sure if its related to Nokia Tablet being new or not. Verizion had great IT people that were very friendly and helpful , with such an odd problem.
The are fixing the problem and dont expect it to happen again. My question is did anyone else have this problem with their Nokia 2520?
Its a Nokia problem cause Nokia still makes money from all sales till end of the year. More money they make the better cash on hand we have. Also dont forget Nokia can make stuff again in 2016 so you want to leave them with a great product (with 2 yr contract) so when the 2 yr contract ends they buy a Nokia again.
Me and 2 others waited outside of Verizon to get the new Nokia 2520. To our surprise we found out that NO verizn store has revived a single Nokia 2520 for the launch, but will have them tommarow. I thought the whole reason to announce the sale on the 21 was to beat AT&T on first day sales. So even tho its released today , no one will get it till the 22nd. On a positive note Verizon is removing the activation fee since they didnt have it today. So if you want to save $30 go order it today at ur local Verizon store. Also store salesmen was excited about the Nokia 2520
I cant seem to find or get an answer from Microsoft on where and if the Nokia Power Keyboard is coming out. Has anyone been able to find it and where to buy one. Dont want to pre-order if i cant get the keyboard
I just was going to also pre-order my Nokia 2520 but then they didnt have the keyword cover!!!! #$%$! How can they not sell the keyboard cover
You can pre-order the Nokia 2520 but you can't buy the Keyboard. Hell their live chat couldnt tell me as to if or when they would have it. Or if it would be in the local stores.
Libertarians? How can you blame them they don't hold any major offices? Just cause the media or an idiotic political figure claims to be Libertarian doesn't mean they are truly in line with libertarian views. Read the LP platform and you will see what real libertarians are like
(Like I said in one of my posts earlier Nokia is going after the App market, in a big way. Nokia has so many seeds into App companies and their own App R&D that I would say in the next year we will start to see large numbers coming out of the division.)
MAG Interactive, a Swedish app maker that went on to create Ruzzle, a game that’s been downloaded more than 45 million times in the last 18 months, just picked up $6 million in a round of funding led by Nokia Growth Partners. Another private investor whose identity remains undisclosed filled out the rest of the round.
While U.S. investors may have cooled a bit on mobile gaming, it continues to be incredibly hot in Europe with Supercell recently picking up more than $1.5 billion from Softbank and Gung-Ho and U.K.’s King on the road to a potential IPO. Nokia Growth Partners also recently backed what’s considered Finland’s most promising emerging game startup, Grand Cru.
So I think every OS now has Nokia HERE now. Tanza, Snailfish,Microsoft, Android, and Apple. And with 3 of them having it pre installed we can expect large rev
(By the way I would love to test drive a Jolla)
Those who pick up Jolla's first smartphone won't be hurting for content. The mobile startup has just struck a deal to use Nokia's Here services for map data in Sailfish OS; early adopters will have detailed location info in 190 countries. They'll have an easy time finding software, too, since the company has also unveiled plans to include Yandex's Android app store. The Russian web giant will give Sailfish users access to about 85,000 apps, including major titles like Skype and Twitter. Between these two agreements, Jolla is practically ready for prime time -- about all it has left to do is ship its inaugural device to carriers.
After downloading and using Lytro, btw amazing app. It accrued to me Nokia has a few dozen apps, 60 some, and as MSFT takes over Nokia will start charging for their apps. Meaning they could become a huge App developer, mainly utility apps, with millions of $s of revenue. What do u think?
Holy #$%$! Did you guys try this app?? It amazing, fast shoot, and never out of focus. Just used it wail on the train to take a pic of a billboard, not one bit blurry!!!
Nokia may have another leg to its company Apps, if they keep it up they could be the first large company to make utility apps.
The leaked codenames include, Goldfinger, Moneypenny, Normandy, Phantom, and Spinel. Right of the bat the names Goldfinger and Moneypenny are recognizable as they allude to James Bond, and we have to wonder if there is any significance. More interesting would be Spinel, which according to its Wikipedia entry states that it is a magnesium and aluminum mineral, and given that Nokia has an aluminum phone in the form of the Lumia 925, we wouldn’t be surprised if they were to release another metal-clad device down the line. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more.
Even the dumb shorter here are better, at least they shut up and go away when they no its a lost cause. But these dummies just keep talking
lol i am with you thats why I am Libertarian. Just voted for the 5 Libertarian in my town. Looks like 4 of them may win cause people are tired of getting screwed
