Didn't I say Node size will become a common denominator? AMD will kill INTEL on chip architecture as this is becoming more apparent now
I agree, it is virtually impossible to spinoff any part of AMDs business given the synergies of their technology and products they will be bringing to market. I think if anything a merger or complete buyout are the only possibilities here.
So happy this has come up again :). Lets face it , just because INTEL will be facing stiffer competition from a buyout, doesn't mean this agreement cannot be renewed. It will have to be renewed or else INTEL cannot have AMD64 extensions. It really is that simple and Kumar said to the world this agreement is not an impediment to a Merger or Acquisition. basher may be right on termination, but the solution is a renewal!
This is why AMD will no doubt at some point come up with 128 bit processor in GPUs to better execute simultaneous calculations in calculating shifting visual matrices.
I find it strange that absolutely nothing new was said in Jefferies conference that has not already been addressed in great detail at AMD conference, except for Jefferies question about the cross licensing agreement. it seems to me that AMD wanted this bit of information to be cleared up once and for all. Strange that Jefferies didn't ask that at AMD conference.
This business will explode! definitely AMD has the edge with Liquid VR, it is the toughest part at solving motion sickness and requires massive calculations to reducing motion-to-photon latency to less than 10 milliseconds. This is a crucial step in addressing the common discomforts, such as motion sickness, that may occur when you turn your head in a virtual world and it takes even a few milliseconds too long for a new perspective to be shown.
VR will be an important revenue driver for AMD, everyone will have headsets, and I can see decades of new generations coming from these devices
Was AMD prepping investors that there is truth in those rumors that were circulating of Chinese interest in AMD?
