Let's face it, if AVXL is not a good BIOTECH investment .....what is? If you can read and if the data presented so far has been accurately and truthfully reported then the risk is at least low.
Well what ever it is you can bet he has it in the bag already. He would not be out in front like this unless he was convinced. Risks are not a thing he does.
I think the knife fight analogy is also correct. The knives will be out the instant positive results are publicized. Of Course Dr M understands this and is planning accordingly. The consequences of such positive results to the medical/clinical world will be argued for many years(all CNS possibilities).
I want and hope for positive data ASAP but If it takes a few more days to summarize then I am OK with Friday.
Like most longs I would very much like to see a report of science and excellent trial results on Tuesday. But, I expect a conference presentation on the company, multiple likely product applications, good news possible along these lines.
bed...agree , the history makes development of an effective treatment look almost impossible, but ...(unless the results to date have been published to be intentionally misleading)...we are getting closer. So, we might ask the question of ourselves. What is the likelihood that results published to date were done to intentionally mislead investors? I say with confidence approaching certainty that the results were not intentionally misleading and that investors have interperated them correctly.
Imagine you are in a room full of shorts. Their task is to conduct a risk analysis of AVXL SP. The questions they have to answer is...(from a shorts point of view)...what could go wrong? What if it did, then what would happen? What is the likelihood of that happening?..... list of possibilities...1 A new patent or series f patents. 2. MJF adds to pot. 3. NIH gives $$$ for epilepsy. 4. Phase 2 results look great? 5. FDA grants BT status. TBI studies show promise with 2-73.6. BP partner for phase 3 trials.......Ok, OK, you get the idea. Huh, pretty risky way to live. Now you have to ask yourself. Do you feel lucky punk?
Won't a lot of the who gets attention/interest be determined by what happens between now and then? Dr M. is usually way out in front of this kind of thing. we'll see, not much time left. Else, the next conference.
