Nope. Politicians have always sucked. They have always bought votes with other people's money from Egypt to Greece to Rome and now here in the USA. That is why the founding fathers made a constitution that was supposed to be iron clad until the federal courts (i.e. the supreme court said that the constitution is a living document and times change so they can change things to benefit the gov't instead of individuals) basically ripped it and threw it away. That is why you can now go to jail if you don't buy Obamacare and soon you won't be able to drink sode or eat a french fry. The State now owns your sorry #$%$

PS - If high taxes are so great why did they destroy the price of STO? Look at how much they pay in taxes now in Norway. It is being milked like a fat cow. Soon to be a skinny cow.

Never ever met a person from Norway that wouldn't give up their citizenship there to live in the USA. These are people that are visiting in the USA with me telling them I prefer their honesty to their fear of insulting me. Slow train wreck. Heavily centrally controlled economies always crash sooner or later. We may have seen recent highs in the markets for now. People are starting to call for the heads of the central bankers. If the economy slows print more money and if the economy picks up ... uh ... on second thought ... that will never happen until they stop creating disincentives.

Not a bad idea with summer upon us. RDS is the second largest refiner in EU and with TOT lowering its divy there is no doubt RDS is fighting the EU communists the entire way. I think your beef is with the gov't over there. The building had all the proper permitting or the gov't officials were paid off. To say the extra floors were not allowed per the permitting by the gov't is a really sad joke. Maybe if the gov't was paid off even more nothing would have happened? I don't think so.

Ask the sweatshop workers if their lives are better or worse after they get their jobs at the sweatshop. I am sure YOU will be surprised by the answer.
