I would have let them go belly up.
Now they are qualified to tell u what coh is worth?
Coh has hardly and debt.
Ms needs free money from fed.
Govt needs ms to push treasuries,
So ms will survive only with govt permission.
When i want their opinion i will ask for it.
Until then, since i baled you out just shut up.
What is your plan? Take money from productive people and give it to unproductive people? Stalin tried that and USSR fell apart. No one took care of anything and the country was thrown back into the middle ages. I will take capitalism and ownership over taxes and redistribution and collectivism any day.
The fact you are here talking about taxing Buffet more for your own selfish reasons shows man's own self interest. You should be able to follow yours but not with crooked politicians in your pocket. Maybe you should not like WEB for his Burlington Northern which gets special treatment because Keystone keeps getting delayed. Wonder what WEB's position on that would be.
Mgmt owns tons of stock, hardly any debt, too many stores (workout shoes), strong brand appeal. It might take a couple of years but this is a double from here.
Story of my life. Anyways ... GNC averages about a grand a day a store across the board. Socked a few shares away. This is my spec money along with bbby in retail. Just sold DG FDO and DLTR on the Ichan pop so had some retail money sitting around and these two fit the bill. BBBY might be one of the best run retailers with zero lt debt. If you have a bedroom or kitchen you can use stuff from there and they have some pretty cool stuff. These are no HD but they should do well.
Good buy on WMT. You are always hitting them good.
BRK is my biggest financial holding. WEB gets deals other banks only dream of. AXP has been a fantastic ride for BRK since the lows. Good luck.
Financials. I don't trust fractional reserve banking but I trust WEB. An enigma wrapped in a puzzle.
On the other hand you already own it so u probably understand it and follow it better than if u didn't. I see a drug company or big consumer products company eventually buying this out. HELE jumped in the fray the other day.
High spec real estate investors did well until the market went to #$%$ FYI. Anything is still better than cash since central banks are destroying that at a much quicker rate than productivity and population gains. This board just needed someone to point out the other side of the coin. I trade SDRL and have been following it for years and it has only been rather recently that F has been selling off stuff to partnerships and other major related party transactions. It is interesting to see how the divy gets jacked. Reminds me of FRO near the highs. Negative cash flow to boot. Just an observation that I am sure the longs can give me some thumb downs on. Enjoy the show.
I will do the math for you.
This year IBT was 3.129 - rig sale .440 - deconsolidation 2.339 = .350 / 493 shares = .71 eps b4 taxes.
Last year IBT was .440 - rig sale .061 = .379 / 489 shares = .77 eps b4 taxes.
So it was less of course. Revs were less and expenses were higher in 1st quarter so that makes sense.
The reporting sucked. There is no nice way to say it.
So why didn't they report the EPS without the gain from SDLP spinoff and why do they add the gains from selling rigs in the operating income? That is pretty aggressive accounting if you ask me. One time gains should be at the end of the financials and called extraordinary gains as one time gains or losses. Where does the loss carry-over come from last year? Why sell a good rig leased to BP until 2019 or 2020 to SDLP? That ship looks brand new and is leased to a major that will be here for another 100 years.
Alright. I am done here. SDRL will be OK for a while for a few trades for you but I don't trust it for my long term money because of all the cross transactions with related parties and big leverage. I am not saying the stock won't go higher but everyone else here is painting a very very rosy picture that I don't see.
Fredrikson is highly leveraged dice thrower with other people's money IMHO and many others too. Gamble your money at your own risk. At low 20s and market improving this was a buy. Now it is a sell near 40. Bi low sell hi. Am I crazy? I like to think so.
BTW SDRL last year was FCF negative. NI 2.653 + Depr .553 - CAPX 4.273 - Divs 1.287. So I may be crazy but at least I know how to do math. I am usually early so you may get a trade out of this. My point is that there are better options FYI.
Bash the basher. I get it. Enjoy the show.
