Forbes Special Situation Survey (a subscription newsletter that offers ONE stock selection/month) recommended SCMP as their April pick at 10AM this morning. They'll typically follow their selections with updates for 2+/- years or until it reaches their target price (in this case $16).
I'm in at 11.60.
Good luck to all.
Just averaged down big time.
Not necessarily the way I like to go, but in this instance, EVRI is insanely oversold.
You screamers gotta get a grip.
Thanks for 'suckering' me into buying MRC @11. After all, if I liked it at 12 a few weeks back, I must LOVE it at 11. Thanks again. BTW, sheltered account, 0 brokerage fee.
Lawman, In a word YES. Everyone has a personal perspective on when to buy/sell. I couldn't resist taking the quick profit but I'll be buying on any pull-back. Here's a quick word on why. "..........we think the stock is still worth at least $26 right now. As this is nearly 90% above where shares have fallen to, BCC easily remains a BUY."
Here are some companies from the finance sector that have the right combination of elements to post an earnings beat this quarter:
Apple Hospitality REIT, Inc. APLE with an Earnings ESP of +2.86% and a Zacks Rank #3. The company is scheduled to report fourth-quarter results on Feb 25.
It's a subscription service - one pick /mo with detailed rationale and periodic followups. The past two years have not been terribly good for their picks. I picked up a couple at the bottom (including BCC) Others like TIME, CLW, ARRS, SHLO are recommendations that have taken a beating. All were reiterated as a BUY in the past two weeks. I'm NOT a shill for them. Their picks are not for the faint of heart.
Norm -- For the record - I bought MRC @ ~12 and sold ~ 15 so I did OK. You can check my posts on the board to validate when I first posted.
Haven't checked in for a while (been out of MRC for a while).
Totally out of the sector now - sold TSO before the recent tank.
Just bough TIME and BCC -- don't laugh. The same newsletter that recommended MRC at the bottom has been following these two and feels they are vastly undervalued. TIME has a nice, safe dividend to boot!
