Forrester expects online retail sales in the US to reach $294 billion in 2014, or approximately 9% of all sales in the US. We're forecasting a strong compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.5% between 2013 and 2018 for US eCommerce, yielding approximately $414 billion in online sales by 2018. By 2018, Forrester expects that online sales will account for 11% of total US retail sales. The key drivers of growth in the online channel? The increased penetration of mobile devices, including tablets, and greater wallet share shift to the web channel from online buyers, all driven by rich web offers from online merchants.

this is the 214 post in the last year regarding a "break out". Your not talking about a prison here, your talking about investors who bit into the "break out" story, and are now captive to their losses...............

  • Think That Sale Item Is a Good Deal? Think Again
    Monday, 14 Jul 2014 05:05 PM
    By Michelle Smith

Buyer beware: A sale is not always a sale and a bargain isn't always the great deal it appears to be.

Retailers commonly combine slick pricing, frequent couponing and confusing discounting to trick shoppers into believing they are getting big savings. But in reality, shoppers often end up overpaying for items, reported MarketWatch.

One reason sales and coupons don't mean real savings is because some retailers jack up the original price before offering discounts.

For example, JC Penney has a reputation for offering coupons. The retailer recently ran a promotion on the Ninja NJ600 Blender claiming the original price was $145.00 but offered it on sale for $99.00.

Meanwhile, at Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Best Buy, the blender was already listed and selling for $99, says MarketWatch.

Yours is the 345th post that said the exact same thing starting about a year ago!!!

  • New York's top law enforcement office Wednesday accused British banking giant Barclays of "fraud and deceit" for operating an alternative trading venue that improperly favored high-frequency trading.

Barclays operates a so-called dark pool, a private electronic venue away from traditional stock exchanges where the size and price of trading orders are not disclosed to participants.

Dark pools are a frequent venue for high-frequency trading, a technique that enables traders using lightning fast computers to execute transactions in milliseconds. Those tactics have raised public concern that high-frequency traders have an improper advantage over other financial market participants.

Barclays falsely told clients and the investing public that it had implemented special safeguards to protect them from "aggressive," "predatory" or "toxic" high frequency traders, the new lawsuit filed by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman charged.

Instead, "Barclays has actively sought to attract such traders to its dark pool, and it has given them advantages over others trading in the pool," the lawsuit alleged.
