You're going to get nothing more than guesses, in my opinion, there isn't any insider information published here. My best guess on something like the X1 was 3 years from concept to market. The shield console itself probably has a gestation period of 12-18 months from development boards, case design, proof of concept, certifications, testing and production ramp.
If the stock continues on this trajectory, a no brainer. (I think the latest number I saw he had ~19.5M shares)
Network performance is proven on today's systems. Yes, if you've still on dialup forget it. But most metro areas support 5Mb (if I recall, the min Grid spec), you just might have to pay a bit more for it. I think gamers pretty much understand this, and so reviews from early adopters should be fine on this aspect. The way I see the US interconnect speeds aren't going down from here, the situation will only improve.
