The thing about the barclay upgrade is that it sounds great whether exactly right or wrong especially given the 180 from under to overweight. He may be off as you say but we don't know his thinking. Quite possibly he is planning an upgrade to his upgrade based on his exhaustive research to ignite the next leg up.

Barclays upgraded Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ: CRUS) from Underweight to Overweight with a price target of $28.00 (from $18.00). Analyst Blayne Curtis thinks Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) content will increase to $2.50-$3.50 from $2.00 today. He also sees opportunities for Cirrus Logic to lever the same part into the Android channel and Samsung's GS6.

"We believe CRUS will see content in the IP6S next year increasing to $2.50-3.50 (codec+amp) from ~$2.00 in the IP6," said Curtis." . . . we believe CRUS' next-gen 55nm smart codec will integrate a low power DSP to enable "always on voice." The low power DSP allows the phone to always keep one of the phone mics on and then wake the phone up if a user makes a request (i.e. you can query Siri without turning on the phone). We believe there is a roadmap beyond the DSP to provide greater processing power, as well as tie into the mic, which CRUS can also supply."

"We believe CRUS can regain share in Android next year with its smart codec as OEMs look to add "always on" capabilities - particularly Samsung. CRUS' 65nm smart codec (WM5110) is in the Note 4 and we see CRUS securing the majority of the GS6. Our checks suggest the GS6 will largely use a Samsung AP/Intel baseband (QCOM in VZ/Sprint). This is a 35-40M unit opportunity at an ASP of $2+," continued the analyst.

"Our CY14 revenue/EPS move to $790M/$2.21 (prior $788M/$2.20), CY15 moves to $935M/$1.55 (prior $852M/$1.19), and we introduce CY16 of $1054M/$2.08. Our PT moves to $28 based on 13.4x our new CY16 EPS estimate of $2.08 (vs. our prior $18 based on 15x our old CY15 EPS of $1.19)," he added.

His mother probably forgot to give him a bottle of milk somewhere along the line. Good that you just slammed the door in his face. Enjoy the holidays Al.

Because I don't place a bet on every piece of info that I post. And neither do I post info if I don't believe it's valid. However, I have bot based on ah info and it did work out to my satisfaction.

It's your style to be overly wordy with much of it meaningless information. I could give two shxts about flex, tell somebody who cares. The truth of the matter is that there were 50 trades last night close to 400,000 shares traded. That is way out of the ordinary for number of trades. The "TELL" was a single large trade trade of close to 100,000 late in the session. Way out of the ordinary late in the session. The first trade after hours is usually 10 to 40,000 or so and probably is representative of catch up trades from earlier session. A large trade later in the session catches my eye.

The price remains the same thru it all seems to bother you for some reason. This may come as a surprise to you but the same thing happens during regular trading from time to time. Then the stock jumps of declines and often restarts the trend or reverses. The regular market hours confirmed my thinking. Sounds like you got caught pisxing in the wind.

Not many people would admit how poorly their stocks were doing as you did not too long ago. If anybody deserves crus to be rebounding the way it is - you do. Good job. Thanks for trying to help your fellow investors.

Over 50 trades with one nearly 100,000 shares that came later in the ah session. Seems more meaningful than meaningless as another poster suggested as early market trading clearly supports.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that triple witching had that kind of effect ah. I fully understand the folly of ah but nonetheless there are time when valid hints are passed thru. Been there done that.

over 50 trades totaling well over 300,000 shares. This is not regular ah trading for this stock. Does anybody have ideas what's going on. I think lookingforgrowth is going to be very disappointed after this is done.

Ok as long as you admit that no analysis is any good shows that you are basically a dart thrower. You are down in the dumps now because the stock has not shot up to 30 with the barclay upgrade. You will be jerkin off again when the stock busts thru 23. You should be in mutual funds. You'll feel better until the bear market hits then you can throw in the towel.

Ta in my opinion is best used for entry exit points. Ta succeeds and fails just as fundamental analysis does. I try to use both with emphasis on ta. No doubt ta people have been fooled in this stock just as fa people have. I agree that manipulation in this stock makes both analyses difficult.

I EMPHATICALLY posted a few times not long ago that this stock had bottomed when others on this bd were EXTREMELY negative. I am better getting the bottom than the top. I didn't have it exactly right but close enough for gov accounting. I bot well below where the stock is today primarily based on ta. BTW I enjoy reading grade's interpretations of both fa but also pay attyention to his ta calls.

Personally I haven't done badly on this stock. I called for a bottom around 19 1/2 not long ago and bot there. The stock then crashed to 16 or whatever and I sold when it rebounded to 20. Bot back at 18 1/2 where I stand pat today.

Nope, it's a diagonal line on the weekly chart. Strong resistance here and another straight line coming across just above.

Well thought out post but nowhere near as bullish as your posts after last earnings. Everything else remains the same.

usually when you see 100 shares traded pre market at large increase it goes the opposite direction at open.

  • normagain2000 by normagain2000 Dec 18, 2014 8:43 AM Flag

One can hope that the 100 share trade at 23.11 is for real but is probably unlikely. The trades were mixed last night but there were a few in high 22's and of course the market is jumping so maybe short fry time again.

The technicals could turn up at any time in here but I would not call them oversold. Looks like silvestra and his crew were able to take this off 8 with relative ease whether or not he was the author of recent sa article.
