Foreign companies have owned food processing companies for years. Japanese bought large large farms years ago and many of them were sold by the Japanese after a number of years back to U.S. citizens. The Smithfield company will still employee American workers.

mikehunt has to be one of the most ill informed people on this board. He expects teachers to go to school for 4 to 5 years and receive pay just above or maybe at the poverty level. If he thinks the education system would be better with vouchers he has no way to prove that because those in a voucher system are not subject to standized tests. Besides, hunt has never taught, has no idea what teacher through every day. I might add it is pretty hard to teach when the kids aren't in school.

The IRS workers were doing the job they were supposed to do. Every tax free application should be scrutinized, especially ones dealing with politics.

Obama got us out of GWB's war involvement perpetrated by lies and has now set in motion the wheels to get our troops out of Afghanistan. Republicans are itching our Country to get involved in the Syrian Civil war. Easy to do when none of their sons or daughters will be involved.

Why just single out Walmart. How about Target, Burger King, McDonald's,. K-Mart, Big Lots, Wendy's or any hometown restaurant. What do they pay? Minimum and no health insurance. Walmart could pay more which would take away the hefty wages of the top management.

Why didn't you, tomuch become a teacher if you think they are getting paid to much? How much did you or are you getting paid? Teachers go to school four to five years before they make a dime. During those years in school they work more hours studying than you do working. I guess you want teachers to be paid like they were back in the 40's, 50's and 60's. I guess you haven't factored in that while they were going to school, the ones that graduated the same time may have been out working and receiving an income.

Did it ever occur to you that there was a huge supply inventory before the housing market started to recover? That is probably the reason why the price of lumber has not kept pace with the increase in new housing construction. When supply gets in line with demand, you will see prices increase. That is how the market works.
