The term "unfunded liabilities" always triggers my BS detector. The U.S. military budget is unfunded too, isn't it? What CBO statistics are relevant?
Bush boys made their $ the old fashioned way - as corporate insiders.
Elizabeth Warren claims that Tom Cotton passed a class she taught at Harvard Law.
Cotton doesn't appear to be Harvard Law Rev material tho.
"Requiem for a Heavyweight" - Republican Senate majority will be gone after the next election.
We got rid of Corbett here in Pennsylvania. The Republicans are still destroying the rest of the country though.
Every hour is Amateur Hour now that the Republicans have captured the Senate.
Many of Iran's government officials who were educated at our universities must have found it incredibly condescending to think that US senators are so uninformed that they just decided to give a remedial lesson on US government to them. Prison for the 47 Traitors!
Obama is still trying to clean up Bush messes, with much greater success than with the tens of millions of 'lost" emails.
Text of the Logan Act.
§ 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments.
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
Forget the lessons of history and you are doomed to repeat them.
A new study from the College of Business at the University of Texas at Arlington found that people who check work email when not at their desks are often angrier. "People who were part of the study reported they became angry when they received a work email or text after they had gone home and that communication was negatively worded or required a lot of the person's time".
The researchers identified two major categories of workers: The segmentors and the integrators.
The segmentors want to keep their personal and work lives separate. Not surprisingly, workers in this category were most negatively impacted when facing after-hours work-related communications.
The integrators want to know what is going on at work, even after-hours. They still got angry when receiving those communications, but it didn't interfere with their personal lives.
And while this study zeroed in on emails that were written in a negative tone or required a lot of attention, researchers found that positively worded emails may offer short bursts of happiness, but those feelings do not last long.
