"Don't beat yourself up. It only took me 2 1/2 years to break even on this stock. Thank gosh I only have 300 shares left. Best of luck to you Dan!"
Doggone boy! Where did you get that kind of money?
With that kind of money you could have bought 12 shares of Apple.
This baby musta had rocket juice for breakfast.
Back up to $5.35 -- sage you must be proud.
"Still here guys, but busy with the Ecommerce consulting gig and upcoming graduations.
Some FTR proceeds will now be used to help with additional family members college educations.
Waiting for the June dividend.
sage, can we please get back to discussing FTR instead of hearing personal details of your life?
This Bd is for a discussion of facts about FTR.
We are losing LT people like rollerbholt because he thinks stuff posted here doesn't help him understand why FTR keeps tanking back sub $5. So give a care and stop posting buffalo chips.
"Finally, I think I am done looking at this message board, as I really haven't gained anything from the postings thereon and have concluded that it is a waste of my time."
Well goodbye old friend.
You will be missed.
Hope you lurk here anyway.
You can come back. You can use another ID.
if you do come back please consider sticking to facts about FTR. This thread is full of O/T statements about how you feel about things. Really dude, who cares about this stuff:
" I would think your sentiment would be to buy. I never express sentiment because I would not advise on buying or selling stock without knowing a persons goals, risk tolerance, and many other factors."
If you do come back please stick to the stock.
In other words dude, drop the personal stuff -- you're not part of the solution to your perceived problem.
Now, anyone -- where is this stock headed -- $5.50 or $4.75.
FTR is just pacing itself. So it doesn't get carried away on 150 pt DOW moves.
Remember it's the turtle who won the race.
Frank runs faster but he likes to stop and graze, and have a little time to himself to make a few chips and nap.
"The stock has gone up 90% in 5 years, and that doesn't include the ~4.5% annual dividend."
Well said -- I myself have some VZ at $26.10 which I bought in late June 2010 just as the FTR deal was happening. Not only is it up 90% but today's $2.20 divvy is 8.4% on cost of $26.10.
No doubt the VZW deal was traumatic given all of the debt and new stock, but since the Great Recession when VZ and T bottomed T is up from my personal low buy of $24.10 about 40% and the divvy on cost is at 7.8%. Obviously VZ has been the right telecom to own.
I sold have my T last summer between $34.90 - $35.55 -- trees don't grow to the sky. But DTV does look good for T. VZ is my income horse so staying long here unless fundamentals weaken which is not on the horizon yet. Always watching GOOG.
