    "nice try shorty"

yep, Frontier had very few problems with the conversion. The survey that rated FTR last of all US telecoms in customer service was probably the work of shorts as well.

I think posters who liken FTR's junk credit rating to it's customer service rating go too far. The proper term for FTR's customer service isn't "junk" it is simply "last".

Hey -- in about 105 days FTR shareholders of record collect another $.105 cash.

If FTR is at or above $4.83 in 106 days you've banked another 2.17% return on your money - $.105/$4.83.

    What could go wrong?

    owens you're my hero.

You felt some FTR pain but at some point a few years ago I believe you saw the light.

I believe for a while way back you ran with the FTR pack with sage.

Then you denounced Maggie and overcame denial. I saw it with my own eyes.

kudos to you for having fought the good fight here helping others.

May you be at one with the lords of money...

  • Get em while they are low, before the run up to the fall dividend.

Avoid the run up at the end of the month when the shares sage owns DRIP -- it's 25% of volume.

Thanks for the info gfconroy.. Sorry to hear you've had problems. I hope you have a thick skin. Be forewarned you are subject to a certain element here who defend FTR like pit bulls. Be on the lookout for their leader "sage". They call sage ,"Maggie's Boy" and he's easy to spot at about 5'2", 280 lbs with a high pitched soprano lisp. His small band of merry men insist FTR's conversion problems are minor, just a bump in the road to long term critical mass. Ignore them.

"Revenue stream more diversified than ever and landline business now less than 20% of total, but expect bashers to continue to focus 100% on this. So sad."

sage -- glad to see your still kicking and gone only because you were attending an "important event".

I'd say the most sad thing around here is the FTR share price. Why do you think FTR continues to swim along at the $5 level?

  • Well almost

  • now2000p now2000p Jun 8, 2016 6:08 PM Flag

"Don't know ONE FTR customer who's sticking with them."

Yup, FTR loses customers left & right. So what are the alternatives you have to FTR?

In my area the local phone co is laying fiber and when I can I will probably drop Time Warner and go with them for broadband and DTV+ AT&T Wireless.

  • We have had some rabble rousing on the topic of FTR's conversion foibles.

Yet sage has not met this new assailment head-on. So he's either slowing down or, God forbid, his dipstick stopped touching oil, R.I.P. and he ground to a halt. One hopes he would have had his on-line life covered in his will and notices will become available.

Oh well, here today and then gone to Maui.

As to FTR losing customers, I'll bet they are getting good offers. I'm sure T is trying to sell DTV/Wireless services and telematics.

It's amazing that all the hub-bub in the press stems from one Tampa real estate appraiser who was out of service for a couple of hours. It was minor stuff due to the flash cutover. Played right into the hands of the shorts.

Funny thing is, FTR share price takes steps forward and then falls back. Unfortunately for FTR shareholders, FTR is trying to lift itself up in the S&P 500 outhouse. The hole is full and FTR has had to use new share certificates as toilet paper each time the old girl slips and sits back down in it.

Thanks khemp. You're obviously a guy who wants to make a contribution to our little FTR community, and that's nice of you. You're no doubt a good team player, you want to help others. You're also a little whacked out but your positive "let me help" attitude saves the day. Time to put a cork in it.

  • "How badly did Frontier do?

ACSI only ranks Frontier as an ISP since it doesn't have enough pay-television customers to be broken out on its own in that category (where it instead counts as part of "all others"). As an Internet provider, however, the company put up the lowest score, 56 out of a possible 100, in an industry that averaged a 64. That number not only secured last place in the category, but it also only barely beat out the worst performer -- little-known Mediacom scored 54 as a pay-television provider.

To make matters worse, Frontier also posted the biggest drop among ISPs, falling by 8% when perennial bottom-dweller Time Warner Cable, now part of Charter Communications, improved its score by 14%. Comcast, another company known for poor service, saw its numbers rise by 5%."

Geeze, I got 3 thumbs down? He was touting his FTR pick because he made $1k over 4 1/2 years. In dollars he's been up an av $222 a year. That's 61 cents a day. If you add in 39 cents you can get the 2 for $1 packs of Planters Peanuts usually displayed eye level at the checkout counters of my supermarkets.

Men, let's forget that petty stuff and move on to more important subjects. More important then rec's made to buy a stock touting a total gain from reinvesting dividends of 60 cents a day. FTR is not a buy and hold stock -- if he had sold his shares at $8 and then just got back in there would be something for him to personally brag about. But it still would have nothing to do with where FTR is headed from here. Get it yet?

I'm sure many here are sick and tired of the same old stuff from Washington pol's. Can we all agree it's time to elect a true outsider? Of course I'm talking about Trump. The next big step past June 7 is to pick a VP. So let me hear your choice. I'd like to see him pick someone with better hair who is more careful about what he says. Because we need to be careful until the election is over....then we telecom stakeholders and other good Americans take back our country and make it greater....

"Bought 415 shares on 1/18/12 for $2,075, collected and reinvested the dividends every quarter, and now I have 588 shares worth $3,075. I'm not complaining...Don't you realize your opinion is worthless."

Timing stocks can have little to do with fundamentals. Ironically, your post is worthless as it isn't 2012 anymore and what happened in the past does not predict the future.

So you're up $1,000 on your 588 shares - BFD.
