I happen to agree with you dan. NWBO may actually have something but until some sort of recent positive results from GBM or the Direct trial are validated, proceed with caution. Many had faith in CLSN just from reading PR's... and that didn't turn out so well. (I didn't own any CLSN but I do own some NWBO).
Yes Kiddo, you are right. Dendritic cells and NWBO's technology must not work because Linda Powers worked at Enron and settled a claim with a mis-leading news story.
You should file a claim against the company for using someone else's X-Ray a informational testimonial. You might get a little settlement yourself.
Personally, I don't care if Linda Powers clubs baby seals while burning huge amounts of fossil fuels to super heat glaciers to speed global warming while eating non-dolphin safe tuna.
If the Technology works, it works regardless of Linda's history. Per the recent prospectus, DCVAX Direct has been injected into at least 2 patients and on-going results should be known late q4 or early q1.
So Kiddo, you only have to wait a max of four months. They just raised 25 mil and DCVAX Direct either works or it won't. If it works, no one is going to care that Linda worked for Enron. If it doesn't, the stock will tank and they will have a very hard time raising money to continue the GBM trial and the company will probably go under and Linda will lose most of the 35 million she put out.
A simple Google search turned this up Mr. Neurologist. And you are right, living 22 months after being diagnosed with GBM is nothing and a lot of patients do. Fewer than 20% in fact, that is provided less than 1 in 5 is a lot to you with todays standard of care. Under 20% isn't a large number to me.
Google Mike Gregoire gbm:
Diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma tumors in August 2010
Gregoire died June 27 2012 of brain cancer.
Kiddo, you claim to be a "neurologist". So I guess you don't carry malpractice insurance because clearly you wouldn't make a mistake and would have no problem spending everything you have to fight a claim in court instead of settling for a fraction of what you would spend to fight it?
Oh wow, NWBO had a lawsuit on a mis-leading press release! This completely invalidates dendritic cells and the technology behind them! I don’t know how Oppenheimer, Sabby, Kings College, Cleveland Institute would even listen to Linda or NWBO because of this!!
It must be way better to invest in Pfizer or Merck as they have NEVER mis-lead Doctors or the public or FDA with their drugs and never have lawsuits.
There are just as many “ambulance chasers” in the stock market as there is anywhere else. Stock takes a dump the lawsuits line up, company gets bought out at a huge premium, lawsuits line up.
Wow, I don't think that is even his house or his DOCTOR. How dare NWBO post a re-enactment of an actual patient on their web site! I bet he didn't even have GBM because they didn't show his head split open and the doctor removing part of his brain!
Why that is a valid point "news" reports often use ready available props.
The better questions would be....
Did he have stage 4 GBM? Yes
Was his given DCVAX and can this be verified? Yes
Did he live twice as long as the standard of care for a stage 4 GBM patient? Yes (22 month VS 11).
NWBO never claimed to "cure GBM" however it does seem to prolong the lives of those who take it VS the standard of care and this video is nothing more than a testimonial to that.
So, let me ask you this? If you were diagnosed with GBM, would want to take DCVAX direct or would you just roll with the standard of care?
I wasn't attacking you either, but you seem to be very pro ATHX and nothing is wrong with that. WS is very well connected and Pfizer is unable to keep a lid on things. The trial with them started in 2009 and there are a couple of other trials as well. The preliminary "results" per patient is fairly rapid with Multistem, blinded or not, clinics have a good idea if it's working or not and I'm sure have somehow communicated that. Given that, the fact that insiders/tutes own around 30% of the stock leads me to believe this is a 50/50 shot on how the data will be crunched. And just for example, CLDX is in about the same stage in thier trials and have 80% owned by insiders/tutes (different company/product I know, but pre-revenue and substantial market if they make it past the trials and FDA). Word generally gets out pretty quick when there is substantial money to be made in the baby bio space and since ATHX has traded pretty much sideways for a number of years, that leads me to believe what I do, however, there are always overlooked undervalued surprises that happen, which is what I'm hoping for. I just wouldn't bet the farm on ATHX it since MGT isn't either.
I've got some shares, doubt this is a slam dunk as the market cap is so low and has been for years (as is insider ownership which I don't get because they are paid very well and on the the last CC stated many a time how undervalued the stock is) but they have a quite of few "partners" including Pfizer (again partners for a long time) If Mulistem gets validated, the stock will go parabolic. The results of that trial should be out in a few months.
If it doesn't get validated in the current trial, I think it's been nothing more than a cash machine for MGT.
The "resident" poster Biojax will say I'm full of it and continue with Ra ra ra!!, but IMO it's a 50/50 shot.
It could take awhile. TSRX had a CT order 6 weeks I think before Cubist bought them out.. but there was a leak as that 6 weeks was nothing but green then it just stopped around 12.50 with the offer at 13.50. It killed my options I had at 12.50 because they tanked to a buck 25 when it was annouced but I bought them at .30 cents.
And from an earlier post, I can see how ACRX would fit nicely into Purdue's business plan but with them being private, it's hard to know the cash they may have to buy them out not to mention ACRX doesn't have near the staff to roll this out commercially if it gets approval.
It's short for "celebrate tomorrow".. however, it could mean nothing at all.
It could be that they really don't have enough to report. If they say 1 has responded it's not as good as say 8 out of 10. It's also possible that no one has responded, and if that is the case they need to raise enough cash to get them to results for the GBM trial. If direct doesn't work, they won't be able to raise cash to finish the GBM trial as the market will assume it doesn't work either.
for 34k. The guy makes 550k a year, yet two weeks ago was preaching how undervalued the stock is on the quarterly report with some potential positive news on the horizon.
I'm not bashing, but as an investor, one would think he could cover a 34k tax bill (far less than 10% of his salary) without selling stock if it's so undervalued as the potential gains could far out weigh the tax bill.
I just know I could easily cover 6% of my salary without selling stock.
Does this bother anyone else?
Every baby Bio is a lottery ticket. Some just have better odds than others. Given NWBO has DCVAX and that is it, within 4 months if NWBO doesn't report postive results from Direct, the investment community will not wait around for GBM and NWBO will have a very hard time raising capitol to finish that trial.
120 days and it's make or break for NWBO. I've got my bet hedged they make it, but the stock worth cents or close to is also a posibility.
It's not the pay it's the shares vs the market cap. If the stock hits $20, it's a billion dollar market cap and Gil is up less than 20 million yet he preaches how under valued the company is but is obviously investing in the market else where.
