He would have to short 16k shares of FSAM MCC has fallen about 50% so far and when you get dividends outside of IRA you pay taxes. MCC really has not done too well in the last year and a half.
unfortunately, i have most of my shares in MCC not MDLY. I didnt start buying MDLY until recently after it went down but even with dividends of MCC I am losing because my cost basis is around 9.
So with the write downs does that mean that MCC earnings report will not be too rosy? If that is the case then when are they going to get their act together? This would be the 4th Q that the do not meet expectations and that might have an effect on the next dividend.
I have read all your articles in Seeking Alpha, and I think I understand.
What I don't understand is how MCC can be 7.48 with a 30c dividend around the corner. I would think it would at least be 8 or thereabouts unless there are more non-accurals like there was with PNNT in their last Q.
MDLY probably going down in sympathy with FSAM. That was the call of the day. I needed that but was fearful. Did you short?
You are right about that I hope but I had 2500 shares and needed a little cash so I took a chance and sold at 6.89 , 400 shares. then today I bought back 300 at 5.68. Tried to get it at 5.61 but missed getting in the buy a minute too late. Now I have 2400 shares.
That is one heck of a profit for 100 shares. A thousand shares would be 1,400 dollars.
pacman what I sold I just bought back at 5.68
every time you say it is stupid it turns out that the stock goes back down and I can reload.
It is a buy and hold but I needed some cash. I still got 2100 shares at ave cost of 6.3
I sold some when it was 6.76 and bought back at 6.3 then bought more at 6.95, 6.85, 6.8
sold 400 that I bought at 6.57 at 6.89
This will add to my dividend for the 2100 shares and help pay for the commissions.
that is good about the AUM and the Sierra growth is not showing up in the price of the stock.
And after the question about energy was asked I did not understand the answer that Mr. Taube gave the analyst.
