6 days later ...article from the street...

Another stock that's starting to trend within range of triggering a major breakout trade is Idera Pharmaceuticals (IDRA_), which is engaged in the discovery and development of novel therapeutics that modulate immune responses through toll-like receptors in the U.S. This stock has been hit hard by the bears so far in 2014, with shares off sharply by 33%.

4 Stocks Breaking Out on Big Volume

If you take a glance at the chart for Idera Pharmaceuticals, you'll notice that this stock has been uptrending a bit for the last month and change, with shares moving higher from its low of $2.34 to its recent high of $3.49 a share. During that uptrend, shares of IDRA have been making mostly higher lows and higher highs, which is bullish technical price action. That move has now pushed shares of IDRA within range of triggering a major breakout trade above some key near-term overhead resistance levels.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in IDRA if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $3.35 to $3.49 a share and then once it takes out more key resistance at $3.68 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average volume of 2.88 million shares. If that breakout materializes soon, then IDRA will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $4.50 to $4.80 a share, or even $5.50 to $6 a share.

Traders can look to buy IDRA off weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below some key near-term support levels at $2.68 or at $2.30 a share. One can also buy IDRA off strength once it starts to bust above those breakout levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point. Less

Out of buisness. By end of year...10k....if you understand the numbers you can see jones has no chance unless they can dilute to survive, but that won,t happen

gotta laugh....after shipping costs you would have to sell it at 4.00 a bottle to breakeven....

  • nuttierthansquirrellshiat by nuttierthansquirrellshiat Jun 17, 2014 9:13 PM Flag

sounds like you lost money on AFFY even though you never mentioneed you bought in and were holding...gonna throw another one at you ,,,it's a baby bio 250mm market cap ,, had a nice run up to PROOF OF CONCEPT results ,, the results were positive...but instituitional shorts pulled the rug out from under them on the good results ,,very little downside risk and a 3 bagger potential by the end of the year ...the science and fundamentals are strong for a baby bio .. check it out you might like it ..would recommend using options as the stock runs but only sell puts and calls ......TICKER...IDRA...

    your delusional.

it costs 5 million a year to keep jones alive , jones makes 3 million, losing 2 million a year ...that 2 million loss a year with jones margins means jones would need over 8 million more in sales to just breakeven...and your 1 cent profit would be another 1.6 million ..your talking close to 25 million in sales ..100% growth...and they are about to run out of cash again.....they also have millions in liabilities so you wouldn't even see a penny from jones...no red flags went off when the V.P of finance just left,, or the credit line went to an off balance sheet arrangement with confidential treatment..
or that jones told you in the 10k they can survive until the end of the year...as you keep crossing your fingers quarter after quarter....and plan on buying more as jones gets closer to closing their doors...

    good luck with that....

just flush it down the toilet now and get it over with,, , out of cash to survive by the end of the year...

Keep in mind they just proved their science works and it is.next generation, second to none..we got a data point coming out by the end of the month , but longer term view is a monster was just born...going after many indications, orphan status, fast tracking, many NDA,s in 2015....could.easily be a 10 bagger in the next 12 to 24 months..and a prime candidate for buyout...check out the 10k....

what numbers ? AFFY was a binary spec play ..Dumbo
it's clear you don't even understand the numbers.. you just listen to the hype. .and cross your fingers
here's something else to think about if you can wrap your little pea brain around it...
the " additional " 3.6 million in sales required this quarter that's needed to get you to your sugar dreams ...jones doesn't have the capital to even pay for the cost of goods needed to get those sales numbers ..as if jones would see over 100% growth this quarter..

    keep crossing your fingers ....

management runs out of product because margins are low. and jones losses money on every sale....jones lemonade stand buys product from a 3rd party ,( after the 3rd party pay's their expenses'.)...now jones lemonade stand has to sell at a high price point to cover the additional expense's from the 3rd party. .... but no body wants to pay those premium prices so there's no demand......and when jones does sell their lemonade they don't make enough to cover their own expense's......so there's no money left to advertise and promote .or buy more goods... .. jones can't raise their already high price point to increase margins to cover expense's and maybe make a profit........and jones can't lower their price point to create demand for their lemonade....so jones keeps diluting shareholders to survive and keeps crying turnaround and growth ......one to many times. and now jones has to close their lemonade stand because no one believes them anymore....after burning over 40 million dollars in their sugar dream...

jones flounders because of their low margins....they don't make any money after operational expenses are paid ....on a 2.00 bottle of soda , cost of goods is 1.52 ...jones net gross is .48 cents before operational expenses which would equal 1.00 ...jones losses .52 cents on every sale..( based on the last 10q) ..so why send you soda that they will lose money on, when they can cash more checks before running out of cash to survive .......and that is why management has their hands tied...jones has no control over their margins when everything is done by a 3rd party...

your making a mistake by thinking jones can survive and they might actually have a good quarter ..when they are out of cash.. have millions in payables and liabilities and continue to lose over 5k a day.......headed to 0.00 doors are closing .....

the balance of 284k could mean jones pay downed some of the 744 or it could mean available balance to draw on, either way it doesn't matter ...jones is not profitable has a ton of debt through payables and liabilities ..and their first statement of having enough working capital to last to the end of the year without the LOC was not true.....they tapped the LOC right after Q2 ended , just days after the V.P of finance bailed....their now using the LOC to survive and will burn through that by the end of the year...

that 1 cent profit at 1.6 million more in sales is quarterly ,the rest is yearly
so on average 2 million more in sales per quarter to breakeven and add another 1.6 million in sales per quarter for your 1 cent profit....

    good luck

correction...if jones sold another 800k of inventory that would of covered payables /liabilities....your still left with 2.6 million of inventory ( shareholders equity ) and no cash or receivables ..and 200k in cash burn since the end of the quarter to time of the report ( close to 1 million in sales needed to cover the new 200k cash burn with jones margins ) .....don't worry the credit line is there....lol
