Labor participation rate during Reagan's years grew from Carter's 63.6 to 66.1. People who were able and wanted jobs could get them. (Obama's rate is 62.9, which is even worse than when Carter left office with his dismal record).
The "bag ladies" and other homeless were Carter's legacy ... And the liberal drive to close mental health facilities and throw people who couldn't care for themselves out.... Also, it was a term used for your mom.
"Trickle down" was a term liberals used because they didn't like Republicans and their free-market policies, which (unfortunately for liberals) worked. Weekly wages grew 45% during Reagan's two terms. They've risen 8.7% in Obama's six years, which means there has been no increase after inflation.
Top individual tax rates for Reagan's years went from 70% to 28%. Deficits averaged 4% of GDP vs 9% today. The tax "increases" were a broadening of the tax base by getting rid of tax shelters and excessive deductions, which mostly favored the rich.
Revenues were, essentially, neutral, although spending increased. Since the defense spending essentially bankrupted the Soviets (who couldn't keep up) and eventually resulted in the breakup of the Soviet Union, it was money well spent.
Yes, yes. Ronald Reagan, himself, made the USDA call ketchup a vegetable. He called them up and said, "Hey, you guys ... ketchup is a vegetable. Make sure it counts as one". He had nothing else to do to occupy his time . Well, except for bankrupting Soviet communism, bringing down the Berlin wall, rescuing the economy from the Carter disaster, over-seeing the greatest economic expansion since WW2 and the like.
Ketchup, though, was clearly the most important thing for him and he devoted all his time to making sure it was called a vegetable.
Actually, Islam has been woven into the fabric of our Presidential administration since Obama became pres. Before that, not so much weaving was done.
I don't recall saying they were sealed by court order; where did you get that? However, somehow the media got Walker's info. Why can't / won't anyone get Obama's? And why has he never made his record public? Something to hide? Hmmmmmmm?
He was applauding them for using the same kind of tactics he does. Cheat to win now, ignore the future consequences.
We know almost nothing about Obama's college years. Everything is sealed.
Ford family control is a blessing, not a curse. It's why there's a healthy dividend. And why the next step is likely to be a stock buyback. They look out for shareholders, since they are the major shareholders. Kerkorian was trying to take on the family, not make a passive investment. He is a takeover guy.
And it's up more now. The big run is coming when Kansas City is running at line speed on the new F-150. I think we "ain't seen nothing yet".
You're "sure"? You mean you're guessing. Ask all the people who haven't gotten raises, have had to work part-time instead of full time, are college grads who can't find a job, or have simply dropped out of the workforce because of limited opportunity whether they love the Obama-Biden economy.
The stock market is buoyed by the Fed, not Obama and Biden ... and it's their hated "rich" that reap the most benefits.
Chief MeWantWampum would disagree with you.
Newt is ok, in general. He is creative and has a wide range of knowledge and insight on many things. But he's sometimes too quick to an opinion and makes over-blown statements that can't be fully backed up. He is too impulsive.
I like him as an advisor to a president, or a cabinet member in a complex department, where his free thinking could be an asset to changing government's "business as usual", but with a staff and boss available to help him see the fuller "cause and effect" relationships to his ideas.
