WBA has been living off the legacy of Walgreens as an industry leader. Improved profitability isn't sustainable when the primary reason is cost cutting. There is only so much fat in any organization and after this latest round of cuts, there wouldn't seem be much left, if any at t all.
A tiny minority of pharmacy customers are actually cash customers. Co-pays for those with RX insurance are virtually the same no matter what pharmacy they choose. Consequently, it is unlikely that many customers will switch pharmacies on the basis of cost. That leaves convenience and trust in your pharmacist as the two factors that influence the choice of pharmacies. Years ago Wal-Mart stated publically that they intended to be number one in the pharmacy business.. The convenience factor is likely to be the same obstacle for Costco. On the other hand, Walgreens new business model seems to call for cutting costs anywhere and everywhere. If this has an impact on the quality and service of the pharmacy, the convenience factor may not be enough for Walgreens to maintain their market share..
Way too funny! Only a candidate like trump could ensure that a little liked democrat like Clinton or even worse Sanders could become president.
I get it. Intelligent design advocates deny science as do global warming experts that have a thermometer on the outside of their trailer.
Simple fact is that no American trusts Iran. Deal may go through but if Israel nukes them, they at least had their head above water. I am no fan of Israel but I would support them if they chose that path.
Ever since Boots acquired Walgreens the stock has been up and the company's future has been down. Although Walgreens supposedly bought Boots for all practical purposes Boots majority stockholder bought Walgreens.
there was a time when Walgreens went from good to great by being innovators. They were the first to break the tie with local super markets and locate on main and main. They were the first to offer one hour photo finishing even though Eckerds was the first to try it. Walgreens introduced drive thru pharmacies which every other drug chain copied. They spent a ton on SIMS, an inventory management system that was years ahead of any retailer, including Wal-Mart. They had an operations staff that was rewarded for risk taking at the store level and was quick to roll out successful programs. It was a "family" company that took care of its own.
All of that is gone - most importantly there is no outward sign of anything innovative. New management seems to think the road to success is by cutting costs.. Ask any store manager that has more than 15 years with the company and they will tell you that they used to have fun - now they just have a job and can't wait to retire.
It' takes a while to become a rite aid but Walgreens is right on the edge of that downward spiral.
Hope Biden jumps into the race. A weak sister but nobody in their right mind would wan Sanders. Biden as soft as he is could beat any GOP ticket assuming that there is no chance moderates will fill both the number one and two slots.
Thankfully the Donald will save us all. Oh, I forgot he has to get elected and he won't even get the GOP nomination. That will go to Bush or Rubio but the number two will be a nut jog like Huckabee so the fat lady is warming up.
Why and independent would vote for a democrat:
Global warming is a fact
Illegals aren't just going to go home
Gays/lesbians do have rights
women have choices also
Unions suck but not as much as the NRA
Intelligent design is a pathetic theory
Most unemployed would rather work.
This is like Obamacare. How many times do you want the supreme court do tell you, for all practical purposes, that you don't get the final vote?
Tough economy. Nice money for a little fetal tissue and fun farming it. So what's the problem? I thought Republicans loved small businesses.
Used to separate job applicants into two piles based on the school they graduated from. Lots of really good small colleges as well as more prestigious larger universities. Quachita would have been in the pile on the left since I didn't really have a need for a religious banana
Nobody really cares if PP is funded or not. what is silly is the GOP platform that opposes abortion. some of the more evangelical oriented right wingers even oppose it in cases of rape. It's just another case that makes it difficult for a moderate Republican to get the nomination when the party platform is on the minority side of virtually every social issue.
Frankly, I think Ben carson is a really smart guy and more pragmatic than most GOP candidates. I will not vote for anyone that can't separate church from state.
Huckabee must be a moderate compared to the average evangelical nut job. Ben Carson on Meet the Press just stated that the bible may take precedent over the constitution depending on the specific issue.. Just what we need is a guy who has formed his own opinion an a specific passage of the bible to decide whether Mathew, Mark Luke or John should take precedent over the ideals of Washington, Franklin, Madison, Hamilton et al.. ISIS operates on the same perverse principal - my religious beliefs will be yours or else.
