Won't matter. Nothing gets passed in the senate any more without 60 votes. Should a bill get to Obama's desk that he doesn't like, there is no way there would be enough votes to override it. So that means GOP needs to win in 2016. that is highly unlikely just because they have a knack for alienating women and minorities. So in a nutshell, we are all screwed. We can expect that we will decimate ISIL But there will be no immigration reform, tax reform, entitlement reform, or any substantial measures to address our huge deficit.
If you want a house or a farm in a flood plain go for it. Just don't ask me to pay for your stupidity. Actually don't ask me to pay because a hurricane destroyed your house or even a tornado. buy insurance or deal with it.
Obama has been a big disappointment to many of us that voted for him. I suspect that many are hoping that Republicans will field a candidate in 2016 that could beat Hillary. Probably not going to happen. those that could win will never get past the religious right nor a platform that includes social issues that only a minority of Americans can accept as sane.
Nobody said you can't go. Bet the NRA will loan you an assault riffle or two. Tweet me when you get there.
He is the new George Patton. A military leader of true stature. Oh, I forgot all his big victories were with the GI Joes he keeps in his office.
They are a little slow to sign up. Seems like they got suckered into both Iraq and Afghanistan and aren't so sure this next fling is going to work out any better.
Cheney! Nice to hear from you. I agree 100% -
send your contractors back.
I can't read Arabic but will take your word for it. The only difference between liberals and republicans is that democrats want Iraqis to kill them all and republicans want or sons and daughters to do the job.
Bush was certainly guilty of failing to enforce banking regulations and the democrats were surely guilty of encouraging Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to take any loan that came their way. When the chips were down bush did what he needed to do to keep us from a catastrophic financial collapse and Obama stayed the course. Cheers to both!
How silly! Virtually all climatologists agree there is global warming. A small minority think it is just a normal cycle. The vast majority of real scientific works point to green house gasses as being a major contributor to the problem.
Let's say the US spends billions (meaning corporations having to meet stringent emission controls) and there was no value added. Unlikely but possible. The flip side of the coin is a naturally recurring event like a meteor hitting the US is detected. NASA says there is only a 19% chance of it hitting the earth and less than a 4% chance it will hit anything north of Kentucky. Who would spend money to knock it off course when it is a naturally recurring event and in the best case would land in the lap of Mitch McConnell.
You just can't worry about day to day volatility. Either you believe the demand for natural gas and oil is only going to increase faster than the supply in the next few years or you just bought a ticket for someplace unknown. If you bought a ticket, get off at the next stop.
Pretty clear that the GOP would rather put boots on the ground to display our military prowess. Of course, those advocating that don't have any kids that will be in harms way.
