TEG is an in an IRA as well with VVC. I am not in MRD situation as you are. Not in WMB but a holder of OKE/OGS/OKS. CNP/OGE/ENBL, plus TE. Sounds like you will keep the shares and take the cash portion. I did that with XLS, kept the HRS shares and bought more royal dutch with the cash. Hope they maintain that 6.25 yield. GL
Hey, looks like we either follow or own similar companies. I plan on keeping the WEC shares when issued, not sure if I will roll the cash portion into WEC and turn on re-investment. Any thoughts?
Bag holder since 2005. Nothing wrong here. Ute sector is on the outs. Even water stocks are selling off. ENBL is the key for OGE payout growth. We will see in October if we get a !0% plus raise for the third year in a row. GL longs
Well at the date of death is your basis and if 2 years ago, looks like you have a capital loss. Getting $3600 of qualified dividends could be worse. What homework..... utilites are down because of interest rate fears. Sell to off set any gains or figure out where to park the money to equal the $3600 you will no longer be getting.
No you are not wrong. Just lumped into the group. I added last week in low 19s..... From website:
CenterPoint Energy's electric transmission and distribution unit serves more than 2.2 million customers in a 5,000 square-mile area that includes Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city and a consistently growing market. As a regulated "wires" utility, we neither generate power nor sell it to end-use customers. We instead own, operate and maintain the poles, wires and substations that make the delivery of electricity from power plants to customers safe and reliable. With over 3,700 miles of transmission lines and nearly 50,000 miles of distribution lines, we deliver electricity on behalf of 85 retail electric providers. -
Thanks for your input. I'm in at $62 from the 2011 purchase. Its in a Roth and I have not put any new money to work in this account. Plus I will get some cash from the KRFT deal once it closes. My personal dogs of the dow are TE, CVX and PG. I was just calculating YTD of individual holdings and was surprised that PG was the leading loser. Thanks
SP FV 69.30. Asset sale can be compared to what GE is doing. Got some in 2011 when it dropped due to CEO issues and performance. Would be averaging up for a change. Any comments?
Meaning the broker converts shares into Harris and cash. No tendering needed, phone call etc. I read last night that buyout was shareholder approved and the waiting period concerning the law is over. And this happens this week.
As I am light in the defense sector, I plan on letting the Harris shares ride. As I did with VEC.
I understand that payout might include return of capital. Also, FTR ran up as you mention past $8 with VZ deal. Took my eye off it see it at $5+, what caused the drop?
TO AUTHORIZE THE COMPANY TO SELL OR OTHERWISE ISSUE UP TO 20% OF ITS COMMON STOCK AT A NET PRICE BELOW ITS THEN-CURRENT NET ASSET VALUE .......... Didn't work out to well the last time !!!!!!
ENBL is making that dividend growth more likely. However, ENBL is flat with like the other midstream MLPs, etc.
