I am long AFFY. Is there anywhere I can verify the news? Thanks.
I agree with both you and Nomad. Really, you mean don't but any options, which Nomad is tacitly agreeing and at this point is the conclusion I have come to.
Yeah - I don't own any UNXL but as soon as I saw Beegz post I thought of the shorts - and of how they are doing the same thing in QCOR.
MFM, you just haven't built up credibility inmy analysis. When I first came on the board, you seemed fickle or a soft basher. You never offered evidence for your belief - and given your past history, I expected today to be a down day, actually considered buying puts, but have been busy lately and didn't want to buy on impulse. But sure enough, whether coincidence or not, we had a sharp drop on a date you tried to have people focus on.
You have really dug yourself a credibility hole. Anyone who has any ability to read a person x's energy in their posts knows you are not trustable. Sorry, just the way I see it. y humble apologies if I have misjudged you.
Mikey, at the risk of incurring your wrath, I'd like to point out Nomad is the guy you once said you would like to sit down and have a beer with. Nomad is sharp, crafty - doesn't mean he will be perfect, or 100% exact.
While I concur with you the board has shown irrational exuberance at times, there was a time when you would shoot down people who spoke out against the shorts.
One time, for example, I said I believed they had a plan, back in March, I think. You were vehement in rebuttal. But they did have a plan - and they appeared right about the switchover in codes causing a problem. They just hadn't anticipated the effect of a record April.
I know there are different styles of expression and teaching, but I think you win people over when you show your erudite professional side. Why lash out at Nomad, even in a small way, who has been shrewd and mostly correct for years? Who helps the board greatly by reporting ongoing data daily, as well as options' plays.
I think you are bigger andI wiser than to lash out as often as you have been doing. JMHO
Makes sense to me even without researching. While no expert in any kind of law, I have read about numerous cases where it is clear to me that the burden of proof rests on the patient, and it would make sense that the burden of proof would require clinical study of some sort, not just a one doctor testimony.
I didn't read the original post, however, so I may be spouting off. And I haven't studied this area of law.
I do also know that out justice system favors the rich, in that the rich have access to better lawyers, in depth legal teams, and money to create appeal after appeal.
The little guy has the public press, primarily. Can one's case be made to embarrass the company? A hard thing to do, unless you have a compelling situation and a slew of people to work on hooking the media into your story. Even then, an insurance company will do a cost benefit analysis, I would think, to see which would cost more in the long run - giving in on one case can risk a precedent that can be quite costly.
Many laws are not written well for the little guy. The American with Disabilities Act, for example. Theoretically protects disabled people in the work place and has done some good, but most people who have taken companies to trial have lost. The law states that the workplace must make reasonable accomodation for a person with disability. But what is "reasonable accomodation"?
When things are grey, the tend not to go the little guy's way
Let's call it by the numer that really tells us exciting times are coming - it was a 69 today for the shorts.
I know, I know, fad stock. But sis-in-law has buy order in for 38s. I have seen her do this in past on IPOs, wait for the dust to settle, pick a price, and get in. These are the type of stocks that usually do well in 4-6 years. She won't fret if she doesn't catch the bottom.
So - just passing the info on. Remember, tech is her sector and she has many connections. Whatever her reasons, she isn't buying because it 's a fad stock..
Will I buy? Only of I decide I am going to take a new tack in investing and go piggyback on her success. After all the highs and lows of Q in the past 11 months, a buy and hold portfolio is looking mighty tempting.
That is why I have decided to back off and simply keep my core position, and hopefully sell some trading shares at LT prices. I also have some trading shares to sell at ST prices, but. Wll wait, even if I lose my profit for the year. QCOR pulled my out of a deficit. maybe time to go to the buy and hold I am suited for.
Truth is stranger than fiction. Did they know one of us would make the 69 joke? Or are we really caught insome bizarre sector of the space time continuum? Or do a have latent ESP - or better yet,the power to control the shorting with my mind?
Ok I will be waiting for a significant 69 tomorrow. Preferably a rise of 69 on the PPS, in dollars.
Or just for sheets and giggles, 69 cents staright up and hard as a rock. It isn't much, but at this point, it will keep things interesting.
Thanks for reminding me. I doubled my AMBS holdings. Now if it will just rise to $1.50 a share, ideally in January 2015, so all the shares are LT. Ah - but would I sell?
I'm not experienced with margin, just use when I am moving one stock to another, and a couple of ST plays with Q but when I felt strongly that PPS would move up because I knew there were catalysts and no binary events. To me, right now, Q doesn't have a clear path, a known ST catalyst, and we know the manipulators have great power. So this is not a time I personally would risk margin, even though there is a chance of profits. There is also a chance of losses that, for me, is too big a risk. Even if PPS stay flat, you lose because of the interest.
Yes - that is what I believe. No battle could end so perfectly. Unlikely as a coincidence. Just precise manipulative power while us little guys watch.
Since you bring it up - is it coincidence, a battle of institutions, or an institution showing us how precisely they can manipulate price?
Yes - and you troubled a good man who gave from his heart. I'm sure PMan feels terrible having to leave the board, as well as having his privacy violated, besides depriving the rest of us of his amazing abilities.
