this is a great time to still buy real estate. you'd be sitting very well if you bought real estate when i first recommended it. look at Miami or my area for example
How can anyone defend this?
The fact-checking organization PolitiFact declared President Barack Obama's "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it" as the "Lie of the Year" on Thursday.
"It was a catchy political pitch and a chance to calm nerves about his dramatic and complicated plan to bring historic change to America’s health insurance system," the editors of the Tampa Bay Times side project wrote in their announcement. "But the promise was impossible to keep."
The oft-repeated promise came under intense criticism after NBC News reported in late October that at least half of the approximately 14 million Americans with individual insurance were set to have their health plans shut down by insurers under Obamacare. Obama ultimately gave in to the pressure and changed the law to fulfill the promise in mid-November
Announcing the decision on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper," PolitiFact editor Angie Drobnic Holan said the political significance of the remark, which Obama made on at least 37 different occasions, was a key factor in their decision
agree there will be a lot more cancelations large and small. I have my own private insurance, already very expensive for a family. Cant wait to see what happens. We can only hope this current law is scraped and start over. I would be interested if somehow they could add HSA's
its so funny watching the libs that are left trying to pump this program. everything this guy dose turns to #$%$
i think by now every dem wishes he would go back to Chicago. this should create a sweep for repubs for years to come. Each day that passes more policy's are getting canceled. Do you think the libs will every try and elect a community organizer again promising hope and change? Hillary will be hurt badly by this mess and that"s a good thing
I told you this was the other ticking time bomb that no ones talking about. They will do anything to divert attention to O's single pc of legislation as it blows up in his face. What a bunch of hacks
The good news, if you want to call it that, is that roughly 1.6 million Americans have enrolled in ObamaCare so far.
The not-so-good news is that 1.46 million of them actually signed up for Medicaid. If that trend continues, it could bankrupt both federal and state governments.
Medicaid is already America’s third-largest government program, trailing only Social Security and Medicare, as a proportion of the federal budget. Almost 8 cents out of every dollar that the federal government spends goes to Medicaid. That’s more than $265 billion per year.
Indeed, already Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid account for 48% of federal spending. Within the next few years, those three programs will eat up more than half of federal expenditures.
And it’s going to get worse. Congress has shown no ability to reform Social Security or Medicare. With ObamaCare adding to Medicare spending, we are picking up speed on the road to insolvency.
The Congressional Budget Office projects that, in part because of ObamaCare, Medicaid spending will more than double over the next 10 years, topping $554 billion by 2023.
wanting a raise and wanting a double for doing the same job shouldn't even be debated. Like we said they can move to a different job if they want to make more money
I am not supreme anything I just don't believe in cradled to grave benefits, gov can take care of you, and gov can give you anything. I believe in a free market that dose have winners and losers and don't believe in class warfare and economic equality. Libs seem to love pitting one group against the other
It may be dumb to you but not a lot of folks who get educated and wok hard everyday
Bleeding hearts will always try and find ways to move the money but in the end it won't work as u take more disposable income from people resulting in more job looses higher prices and weaker consumer spending. My gambling as u call it provides a very nice lifestyle and without people trading the futures markets you'd have no liquidity to trade you options
Just another excuse to get o care off the front page
Just another example of taking from the big bad corps because they take the risks run profitable businesses and give it to someone else that dosen't. I am not sure where it ends but I would take a Walmart stance and say #$%$. If your unhappy leave because you can be replaced in a heartbeat. I know that statment is unpopular today but so be it.
the other question I have is what and who determines a living wage if not the free marketplace? I heard O say this morning everyone is entitled to that. I think thats the problem. Why is anyone entitled to anything here
I take tremendous risks everday in the futures market, am I entiled to make a living wage, I think not. It's up to my ability and skill level. Just another silly thing O brings to the table to deflect all his failures
"AS the minimum rises it will push up the next level of wages and rise in wages will actually help all businesses" Tex where are the facts to support this statement?
No one forces anyone to work anywhere. Market sets pay not individuals. We have seen what peoples wage demands have done to unionized industries ( Auto's for example ). Not mocking anyone but to say as a group we deserve X$$$ for our job is a fairy tail. Ask O how his path to income equality has panned out.
from $ 7.25 an hour to $15.00. No problem income equality for all highly skilled burger flippers. Lets just raise it to $30,00 an hour to really make the folks feel good
"We work hard for companies that are making millions," the 34-year-old Wise says, adding that he lost his home last year, unable to make mortgage payments despite working about 50-hour weeks at Pizza Hut and Burger King. "We're not asking for the world. We want to make enough to make a decent living. We deserve better. If they respect us and pay us and treat us right, it'll lift up the whole economy."
Wise was among a few thousand fast-food workers in seven cities, including New York, Chicago and Detroit, who took to the streets last week, carrying "Strike" and "Supersize Our Wages" signs in front of McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King and other restaurants. They demanded better pay, the right to unionize and a more than doubling of the federal minimum hourly wage from $7.25 to $15.
Will O bail out this group too? If it passes how will Delta afford a $27.00 Big Mac meal? Stay tuned for more on the O miracle economy
if you followed Rodgers over the last few years who I respect you'd be down.
The Fed's policy combined with O's economic policies have only helped the very weatlhy and screwed the majoity of people he said he would help. They are just finding out about that unfortunatley for everyone else that pay's taxes owns businesses etc. What the uneducated never understand is when the gov promises to give anything they take back 10 fold. O Care will be a major set back to the uneducated as well as people in the know. True unemployment will have to rise next yr IMO
maybe but imagine where amazon would be after putting together a website for 3yrs and spending hundreds of millions to wind up with a lemon. Not only that the back end stinks too. Tex can point out a few small successes but for every 1 I am sure we could throw a hundred at him
To scrap an entire industry so that uninsured could get insured was insane to begin with unless it was a complete power grab and that's exactly what happened
Still surprising how many gullible people think the Gov can give them free things. I guess most of them don't pay taxes anyway so in the end they could care less who gets stuck with the bills
