" I never lose been a winner my whole life."
You sound more like a loser to me. A loser in every way imaginable.
I don't like to interact with losers, so I'll have to make you disappear by putting you on 'ignore'.
Now why would some fool give me a thumbs down for agreeing with a prediction by another investor? A prediction, by the way, that's probably on the mark.
100% on the mark with your comment!!!
And there are those who say 'Mr. Market' is on the level. Yeah, right!! This stock has been trading poorly since around the middle to the end of May. Of course, the 'privileged ones' knew what was going to happen. On the other hand, the little guy (i.e., US) didn't know squat! And yes, as you said, the company is just as culpable. Will they ever investigate ALL these people and one day level the playing field? I doubt that very much.
In the meantime, be prepared to start the day off in the 13's. We're already there now.
Hey, PVA, thanks for appreciating my loyalty!! Don't forget to keep that straight face during those presentations.
Disclosure: Until now, I always clicked on 'buy' with a smile of confidence on my face. I'm not smiling any longer.
"A large covered-call trade is looking for a limited range in Penn Virginia.
A block of 2,425 December 15 calls was sold for the bid price of $1.85 today, according to optionMONSTER systems. The previous open interest was just 5 contracts, so this is clearly a new position.
Just 30 seconds later, a print of 242,500 shares of PVA traded for $14.39. So this is a covered call , with the trading betting that the stock will hold between $13.15 and $16.85 through the end of the year. (See our Education section and my recent column on this strategy in our Advantage Point newsletter.)
PVA is up 0.91 percent to $14.39 in midday trading. The oil and gas company was below $5 in mid-September but at a new high just above $18 a month ago."
Hey, Katie, aside from being short this stock, are you also vertically challenged? If so, get a chair and stand on it so you can see the light.
Be careful, Katie. 'Armageddon' is on the horizon.......
From your mouth to G-d's ears. Right, Mr. Guru? a/h
I suggest you go back to your island and make a living climbing for coconuts. :-)
Can anyone opine with an intelligent explanation?
With deference to 'crysball2', I believe that what he/she posted was nothing but speculation. Like you, I saw no analyst report relating to what 'crysball2' wrote.
Having said that, I'll contribute my own speculation....
3/30 was the crazy day. Close to 9m shares were traded that day. I believe that most of the action that day was based on insider knowledge of the news that came out the following trading day- -yesterday- -that PVA sold their Mississippi assets. So I have to disagree with you when you say there has been no apparent news to justify the spike down (i.e., on 6/30 and the next trading day, 6/2).
As far as I'm concerned, PVA was manipulated in advance of the news, not just because they divested themselves of their Mississippi assets, but because as a result of this divestiture, their 2014 production of natural gas equivalent per day was going to decrease by 1.9 million cubic feet.
Again, just my opinion........
Well, I guess Friday's action was a prelude to today's news. No doubt the insiders knew about this on Friday.
Between Friday and today I've taken quite a haircut. In the meantime, I keep adding on.
Did you see the market's reaction to the so-called "good news?"
As I type, we're 'only' down a bit less than 5.12% on that "good news."
Maybe you can tell me why you were "so glad this was announced."
Just heard that the Morgan Stanley index was rebalanced today. That is, for rebalancing purposes, some stocks have to be bought, while others have to be sold. If that's so, then today's action has nothing to do with PVA's fundamentals.
The sceptic that I am, this is either classic manipulation or someone was dumping during the course of the day. $13.95 on the low???!!!!! Gimme a break!!! And I couldn't buy cause I was at the doc's office!! The only other possibility I can think of- -and I doubt this- -is bad new coming that little sh-ts like us wouldn't be privy to.
