I see...filings were after the close.

Doesn't change the fact it's all bad news. Same as last quarter - market is not reacting as it should - maybe folks haven't reacted to it yet? Or same insider is purchasing and supporting the shares? I would short the shares, but I never short.

Do you see anything positive in the announcement? There are more litigation expenses coming, they are losing shelf space, they have only one product that is not performing and is dying - do you see it differently?

Simply awful earnings and earnings announcement after the close.

Stay away - insider purchases are not going to stop it from falling. There is not one iota of encouraging news - it's all bad.

I guess they no longer like it.

  • These guys are bringing home the bacon!

FY 2014 will show earnings of $2.20/share - current share price is below PE of 10!!! They should be priced at a PE of 12 or 13.

    It's time for a nice size dividend increase - maybe a 9 cents/share bump to 85 cents/share?

I'm actually hoping shares trade lower into year end - I want to load reason to be trading below $25 or $26 at this point.

  • Glad I sold - the writing was on the wall 3 months ago.

saketyme - I would re-evaluate if I were you...maybe sell on the next chance you have - Ted is going to drive this into the ground. Shares are going to be diluted and he's going to have to raise more cash. You no longer own a drug/pharma-related company, you own a R&D pet project. It's going to continue bleeding as money is wasting away. I don't see anything encouraging at all in this earnings announcement - it's all bad. Shares could easily slip below $1.00 in the next 6 amount of insider buying is going to stop it from happening in the face of continuing deterioration.

    Best to you.

well clearly I should have sold earlier and repurchased now. but I will be holding into next year - I am confident a partnership will come along during the first half of the year.

if the shares go lower again, I'll probably just start buying/flipping again with another smaller position.

considering there are many people who bought the shares at higher prices during the year and not interested in holding any longer, I suppose there could be a wave of tax selling coming.

    not a problem.

let me give you a few to go check out to take your mind off of ATEA for a little:

VSR - Ebola pumping is dissipating. Ironically, they got two orders for hazmat suits in the past couple weeks totaling about $6 million. Their earnings were in-line, they gave good guidance, and 2015 should be a decent year. I've started repurchasing again - got some at $3.05 yesterday and $2.95 this morning. Have more GTC buys set up under $2.90. Should be some tax selling coming in the next few weeks so I'm hoping for a lower price and getting more. CEO just making token buys of 1000 shares here and there. But with low debt, $3.89 BV, and Ariel owning about 20% I continue to think it's a solid value play with small downside risk.

API - insiders have bought. Earnings just announced were as expected. This quarter will be a little weak, though I predict break-even due to cost cutting, and next quarter should return to profitability. Shares have a pretty solid trading range between .50 and .55 - now trading below .50 since earnings announcement. Check price history for past 6 months - should go back to .50. I was lucky to get some at .44 and will buy more at/below .45 between now and year end.

You've been through a rollercoaster with ATEA for years. Personally, I think you should be happy to not have to think about it at this point and just see where things go. If you want to have something just to be in it if there is a pop on Monday, just pick up a few shares that you wouldn't really care about what happens, but can feel good that you made something if there is a pop.

I think we both know that Zack will have a plan no matter what happens, and will put a positive spin on things, it's just a matter of whether the market buys it, or is too tired of it after all this time.

Anyhow, you may feel as I do with some of my staple/long-term holdings after selling - not seeing it in the portfolio as it has a psychological effect of creating a feeling of emptiness. Try to ignore it - the risk is gone, and that's a good thing. Go research for other/better plays as we're coming in to the homestretch of the year and bargains are again beginning to emerge which will set us up for very quick gains come January.

Who said he was shorting at $3.08?

"When i heard a new CEO talk about assembling a team to commercialize a product that is years away i go short."

    It indicates:
    1. A very high confidence level in the outcome
    2. CEO already told you that they are not spending lots of money to do this, it is merely putting some pieces in place so they are ready to go when they receive approval
    3. The product is not years away

I am certain first day the shares go lower, you will be back on your perch squawking all day.

Go enjoy your day and try not to think about the 9% loss you're looking at on the $3.08 short.

My belief is that as with past company repurchases, they are setting the floor at $1.75. I believe they may be subject to purchasing no more than 25% of the daily volume, so if the shares do dip into the $1.60s, I'd grab them - I certainly will be.

Look for B. Riley to begin coverage on the company soon.

  • Whether it happens in the next year, 3 years, or 5 years from now, ITI is on a path which will lead to it being bought out. Revenues continue to grow, they have a number of products that could be huge, and they are in the right business at the right time.

    You are a broken record.

Take out the last of the audit expenses and adjusted earnings is a profit of about $800,000 for the quarter.

3 years ago this stock was trading at $3.49 a share. At 6.98 that will mean the stock has appreciated 100% in 3 years. On top of that, the company has paid out $1.48/share in dividends in the past 2 years, with another dividend coming in 4 weeks. This amounts to an extra 46%. In the tech sector, 140% growth in 3 years is a good showing.

Alibaba - insanity - that's not an investment, that's a game of roulette...the mother lode of all Chinese frauds.

In the tech sector, things are very cyclical. We can make our period of analysis as long or as short as necessary to make whatever the point is we want to. In 1995, CCUR shares were exactly where they are today - does it really matter? What is important is if the company is undervalued today?

Now, I'm not saying you should buy another 2000 shares of CCUR especially if you feel that you already have enough...a good portfolio should be well diversified. Personally, I wouldn't touch Alibaba - it could be down 50% very quickly. Be sure you keep a few bottles of Pepto within reach.

  • Can just feel that shortness of breath right about now.

We could be looking at $4 again by Thanksgiving.

    Certainly not from DRAD.

DRAD is interested with shares waning in the $1.50s, not 40%+ higher.
