there are many dead cat bounces on the way down. with the entire market up, is it not obvious ELMD is simply along for the ride?
don't confuse a dead cat bounce for brilliance...because when it's over and the down trend continues, then we'll have to call you something else.
It's just the audio feed, but it is extremely good.
Both the presentation as well as the Q&A are packed with excellent information about the Sport Chalet model, the transformation taking place today and going forward.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years
A: Sport Chalet will be twice as big as today
We are at the very beginning of a major growth spurt and return to sustained profitability.
why shouldn't I be proud of myself? look at the price today, look at my posts on this board since January.
you're proud of the $100 you made on a dead cat bounce? good for you.
All of the financial sector are coming in a little light for Q1...PFS did extremely well considering the harsh weather - again, which has hurt all financials.
As the year progresses, business will strengthen.
Any purchases under $17 is a great deal.
Nope. It's because business is solid, all financials had a weak Q1 due to the harsh weather, it's paying well above 5% dividend that is stable/secure, insiders regularly purchase shares, and we are about to enter the strong season of the year.
I suspect that we'll hear the chants of "Sell in May" over the next few days and Average Joe will do as he always does and sells. A few days later the entire market will be taken higher for the remainder of the month. Bring it on.
Sorry your life is so awful...don't worry, be happy.
I'm reading a market psychology book by David Dreman (contrarian) and he covers exactly what's happening with ITI.
He explains during a bubble period, while people are racing to the inflated stocks, the value stocks get neglected. They will also get pulled down along with the market as we've seen this past week. However, he shows that time and again, when the bubble eventually pops, those value stocks with real businesses outperform everything.
Shares are a smidge above book value (again). I'll wait to buy more for once we get the earnings announcement. Either the shares will move back up, or they will get whacked by sellers ... I've seen it many times over the past couple weeks - even when unjustified. It's the theme for this earnings season. However, after unjustified whacking takes place, the rebound happens very quickly either the same day, or over the next few days.
Anyhow, the three or four of us here know the situation - just have to wait for some numbers to show it (again) and others to figure it out.
Check trades at market open - possibly a Seeking Alpha pump and dump article. If it is Seeking Alpha, we'll know within 24 hours.
Be cautious and make money. The three or four folks here know the company and stock better.
yes, it has attributes of both growth and value stocks. the PE is not out of line as a growth stock.
as you rightly point out, as far as the value stock qualities, I am looking at the balance sheet and fundamentals. when I see 30%+ cash as a percentage of the stock price, trading at close to book value, no debt, the buyback, etc. - these things scream value stock to me - it is being underpriced by the market - likely as a result of the (current) high PE, it is considered tech, and it's just getting swept along with the other NASDAQ tech stocks.
I'm confident earnings will be picking up as the year progresses. In the mean time, though difficult seeing the share price weakness, I have no worries holding it in my portfolio.
I ran into some logistic problems as well and I ended up paying the $30 fee for the 440 shares in my smaller account but wasn't able to get the 2200 shares in my larger account which I wanted more. Will just put my GTC order out there again below $2 and hope I get lucky.
You can believe whatever you like. My posts are here for all to see when I was buying and I when I sold. I made my profits in a matter of weeks. Clearly that disturbs you.
I was silent for the longest time? How long is "the longest time"? Certainly not the years you claim the shares have not been consistently over $15. But, does it matter? I posted the price when I bought, I told you the shares would go back over $15 and you moaned like a little girl in heat. Why wouldn't I have sold when the shares were back over $15 - even if it was for a short time? Maybe I listened to your post about how the shares have not been consistently above $15 is years?
Yet, the profit was minor in relation to the huge amount I made on UBMI buying during the second half of 2013 until the buyout announcement.
Whether you choose believe me or not is no concern of mine - bottom line of my brokerage account is all that matters.
You just continue posting your smack because of whatever vendetta you have against this bank. I'm sure that it brings you some kind of joy, along with attacking anyone who might have a non-negative thought regarding it.
Very upbeat and optimistic with outlook.
Key point, even with weak government business, they are still doing ok and continuing to diversify. Government orders are coming in, but they are dragging out the final approvals/signoffs.
I want to buy more shares lower, but questionable how low shares will go now with buyback in place.
Shares were in account today. Ironically, broker did not charge me the fee - so I'm happy. $30 obviously wasn't going to break the bank, however, for a small number of shares it obviously increases the basis.
Apparently, some Average Joes were on the loose this morning Selling in May, not only in PDEX but most other companies. Similar happened on May 1 last year and we saw what happened the remainder of the year.
As you can see from the headlines, every time a company in same segment gets a Zacks review, BMRA is thrown in the trailer as a Strong Buy recommendation to consider.
Profitable, with no debt, cash, positive cash flow, good outlook, share buyback, CEO buys shares, etc.
Can only keep saying it so many times before you begin to sound stupid to yourself!
It's one of the best holdings in my portfolio from a fundamental and outllok perspective and it's a crime that other stuff that is not as good is outperforming it.
Will just need to be patient a while longer and keep nibbling on more shares.
