Pope Francis is awesome and is right on with his assessment of the greedy fools on off-the-wall street.
It's about the people and doing the right thing, NOT the money you knuckleheads!
Rise above wall street - who cares, anyway? They worship themselves and the money - (buzzer sound) - WRONG!
Go to cash and sleep soundly at night.
People notice you providing less value for the money. It's bad enough that the prices are higher, now you want to put less in the packages of product you sell. Are you kidding?
You know those "savings" you have? The government makes it worth less (as in "worthless" eventually) whenever they print up more money, which they've been doing recklessly to artificially keep the economy afloat. You suffer - unless you're wealthy and in the stock market. 90% of the "wealth" when the printing presses were turned on have gone to only 10% of the people - and guess who those are, and guess at whose expense!
There's a good reason China won't lend us anything more (because we pay them back in currency that's worth less after we print more bills - who wants that?), and the "REAL ECONOMY" truly sucks. It's incredible that when the fed chairman says essentially that our economy sucks so they will continue buying back bonds, wall street cheers as if this is good news. No, it's not. And don't be a fool to believe it. Real unemployment is 20%!!! Look at the inflation from those additional printed bills by the fed! And your dollars are worth less each time they're printed.
That's the real story, and very few reporters are willing to expose it (maybe some of those additonal bills go to keep 'em quiet). Kudos to the ones with the balls to tell it like it is.
Naturally they'll have to cave, even with Obama giving no concessions. There can be no other outcome.
Republicans have a chance to make history by not passing such ridiculous programs. I hope they have the COURAGE to do this - but they won't/can't, unfortunately.
A shame. I decided that based on this issue I would either think of him as a staunch stand-up guy for doing the right thing and getting this borrowing albatross under control - or a sniveling, crying (as seen on TV) give-in guy when the pressure is on. Too bad it's the latter.
Maybe another LEADER can do better to protect the American people from over-borrowing, devaluing our own currency, and most of all, not having future generations pay for our mess.
Republicans caved as expected - Obama always gets what he wants - that's why he's the Prez!
Too bad, because was counting on the GOP to save us from ourselves - we spend WAY, WAY too much that we can't afford. Even with the debt ceiling limit raised for the gov't, consumer spending is totally tanking - and look at the higher unemployment claims number!!! That's the real story.
Did some testing of it and sure enough I totally believe "someone was watching." I'm just a normal, everyday guy with no past "history" whatsoever, so this was alarming.
Beware -- if companies you deal with can sell your personal info to advertisers who then spam the heck out of you, and maybe resell your personal data without your consent, then what makes you think that Facebook isn't doing the same, except with your very personal info including photos and family/friends connections -- and isn't doing it to the government! Or maybe the government created Facebook to spy on people - wouldn't be the first time a government has done this, LOL. Would ours actually use Facebook to spy on you (despite the "Privacy" issues involved, LOL) - I'll leave that one to you. But as I said, I'm off it because I am confident that people other than those I intended were watching - and therefore, not only watching me, but my connections, too (although again, there was nothing to really watch).
Avoid Facebook - and I wouldn't invest in it either (was unimpressed with the whole thing).
They are right - let's have a discussion. If it means default, then oh well - better now than later when it'll hurt even more. I don't care if you are the President -you cannot simply say "my way or the highway" in a democracy where there are other voices that have the right to -and are elected to - be heard and represented.
Stand firm and resolve - no matter how long it takes or the consequences. Let's get this thing done right.
We're in a DEPRESSION with 20% real unemployment and now a government shutdown over the budget - but don't worry, Wall Street defies all logic and says, "Invest with us so we can transfer your money to the rich. We are like vampires - need new blood all the time."
So if you're stupid enough to believe the deception and manipulation on Wall Street (stupid name for financial markets), then go ahead and believe the bs. Wall Street is really bankrupt and for whatever reason (think BRIBERY) is being allowed to deceive people about its "numbers" (LOL). Who's really checking what they post as "earnings" and, worse, who's allowing this happen???
Use your common sense and avoid this sinkhole altogether. It's a stupid place.
Oooh, now they're mad, pouty little brats, so go ahead. You'll show us...LOL you fools.
Can the wealthy crybabies stand to lose even a penny for a millisecond?
My stock brokerage just had to pay millions of dollars because they misled investors about the "safe" investment they were the custodian of to safeguard their clients' money. NOT!
How many crooks are still out there stealing from the middle class and lower to give to the rich?
Wall Street is so disgusting that I wonder how the people who work there can even stand to look at themselves in the mirror. Maybe it's no longer "themselves: they're looking at, but a new money-grubbing image of self.
Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer, the middle class...oops, what middle class?
Are you working longer to make the same or lower wages in real terms while the rich sit back and take YOUR MONEY in the stock market?
It's a real joke. And the worst thing...there's nobody stopping the sham. Those who are supposed to protect the common folks are looking the other way...because they're benefitting from it.
How disgusting! I don't know how these criminals live with themselves...but I can understand how they live with others of their own type. They deserve each other.
