I sold this the day of the announcement for $89.50 or so. I basically just figured it was all priced in. then I watched it rise to $93. I can't complain, but I was wondering about an even juicier offer of up to $100 even, and thinking I may have been hasty. So, at the moment I'm not sorry. The deal may still go through obviously. But at this point , I'm a bit skeptical of a massive US company like Medtronic actually getting this pushed through and "leaving" the US. The Walgreen situation is not inspiring confidence.

  • I had bought into this on the toronto exchange for 133.68 a few weeks ago. I later was looking to raise cash just to have a larger general buffer (market wobbles) , and ended up selling this after reading an article on Bauch & L. and some of the issues with comp sales that Valeant appears to have been glossing over, among other things. It wasn't a giant red flag, but obviously was enough to get me to flip the switch as I was looking for excuses to sell stuff anyway. . Man am I glad now. Its down 17.00 and change since then. I did not see that coming.

    I guess it's inversion pessimism

Although, that doesn't quite explain the massive volume today. There still must have been a large holding that was liquidated or something.

  • There was more noise from the US today and yesterday regarding closing the inversion highway . I guess Actavis had some "inversion premium" in the pricing and it got shaved off a bit today.

After a bunch of target increases. Some hedge fund must be unloading or something. Seems like an ineffective way to lower a position . Most of todays target increases were by junk houses though. I think a reasonable target at the moment is probably 225 or 230. 250 would be nice but i don't think the market is going to give it.

  • TD Waterhouse Canada I just got mine today. From May 2 of course. So how long will the extraordinary dividend take to show up ? Not sure.

Should have bought even more of this when it dipped into the 5's a few months ago.
This thing is a monster. I ditched CPL a while back for a small profit , and kept this one. I made the right choice. Bought them both together quite a while ago. This one was the gem.

Ok thanks. I'll consider it still in the pipeline somewhere and keep an eye out for it.

Who knows when the one from yesterday will ever show up at that rate

  • And never knew what it was. Is that when the share count expanded ? I forget the timelines now. Even this one - is it a dividend, or another share count expansion being called a dividend?
