Cramer has a job, makes good money, and does what all analysts do; talk the market up and down.
A number more days down and it will be time to turn up again unless the market is in need of a little more correction. The last quarter RDS should go to $50. or $100. I think Cramer has said at different times and the clock is running backward now. Best to all.
meaux I remember it well and needed to be reminded of the good times I thought were tough back then.
To be more thankful is something I need to be for the good times. Best to you
meaux, in the meantime a good poem would be good to get our mind off of RDS awhile. I suppose I stick with RDS trading because they made it possible for me to have a decent living for over 45 years, and I'm thankful to still be living in the USA, even with all it's flaws still the best this world has to offer. I looked back to about 5 years ago to probably as long and as good a poem I remember you penning, and there's been a lot of good ones, it was about the changes we were coing thru, and we've seen a lot of them too! Best to you.
I'm leery of RDS too and $1300. gold too when I think of $2000. at which I had someone trying to convince me it was a bargain. When it gets to that point, I suppose I'll have to get a scale to know how much to pay for a loaf of bread with gold.
Looks more drifting down so far today. Best to all
Looking back at Investor Village it appears they have revived their message board, has anyone tried it for RDS-A again?
Is this the week for RDS to recover some of the loss as some have been touting it while others knock it. BTA
aealphonse it does seem that way and when the new CEO says shrink it appears it means share price will shrink too. It seems RD has a way of choosing the wrong things to say. BTA
Sometimes it looks as if RDS has lost it's bloom since causing so much excitement coming from about $69. to about $83 and now the the new CEO and doubleing the last report which will be hard to do again with real profit. A dollar day here and there is unreachable as it usually starts out up good and ends the day lower. This being the dog days of summer and driving season mostly over, it'll be awhile or longer to reach the $90. to $100. level for RDS. Oh well another slow day. Best to all.
I appreciate any thought of help anyone of you might have, I had a lot of friends on the board in the past and am just getting back on.
Thanks kbbe11 for the idea of what handle old Gulf friend might have used, I thought sure someone would remember and I will try oldgulfer2 in hopes he may answer. God Bless and best to U.
Thamks retiredguru3, I was just looking back at posts and read this again. For years Chevron has really been moving and has continued to do so, while RDS has not done as well since the late 90"s split. CVX dividend is now ahead of RD's and RD has inched their dividend up but unable to make the ROI that was reachable 15 years or so ago. As times changed RDS seemed to not do as well. I was a Gulf man at one time and sort of forgot them after I started at Shell in the late 60's but have been looking at them since and wondering how it would have been if RD had merged with Mobil or another major. I'm too old to change now but for those that don't feel the thanks for RDS being my bread winner for 0ver 30 years it might be something to consider. Best to all.
Does anyone remember who this description might fit? I've tried before to get a response that might help to locate him but surely some of the poster's might remember his handle or when his posts ceased. I've been out of circulation myself for a number of years and trying to get back. Anyone know how to get to old posts on Yahoo? Gosh, I've been out since 2010 I believe. Best to all & thanks for any help or ideas.
Thanks, you make it seem it's not bad to stay awhile to $82, which I hope happens. I hope things change for the better but today seems a down day so far.
I enjoyed exchanging notes with years ago, in fact you sent me some very good history etc. on old Gulf. I long to hear from you again. I long for the Havoline days. oldpro
Shell shed it's USA shale holdings today for $2.1B and it could help or hurt, we'll see. I keep wondering how to keep up with rising costs and wonder how it's all 'gonna come out. I just hate to see Shell move more out of USA, it no longer seems the same company here as it once was. One of last posts I saw from DALY1911 he was going to work on his buggy and getting the house fixed up to where it would be more maintenance free as he was getting too old to do much anymore. Regards (as he always closed his posts) BTA
I just get thru looking back at Investor Village. It seems April 21, 2007 may have been last time Daly1911 posted there, how time flies.
I haven't been able to pull up Yahoo posts far back, does anyone know how? I'm not skilled enough on the computer I suppose. Curiosity is strong and just trying to tie together things. BTA
oilrd, you knew how DALY's posts went it seems and "favorite contrarian stock" sounds familiar. He was really a poster I enjoyed too. I wish there were a way to find out if a long time poster like him were still around but with the privacy thing like it is I suppose it's impossible anymore. Looking back is not always bad.
I just found out about an old time friend that I had wanted to visit this summer had passed away and like I said before that seems to happen regularly in our twilight years of 65+, and I fail to so often do what I should do at the right time.
I have a small trading account I trade RDS with and right now I'm trying to decide to keep or shuck and start over, right now it's acting like the contrarian stock it has been in the past. BTA & GLTA
Meaux, thanks for the memories. In 1967 after going to work for Shell I was still paying about 20 cents a gallon and the talk about oil companies making too much money was in full swing in Democrat talk.
Speaking of DALY, he said he took his handle (DALY) from an old gun that had been in the family for a long time. My wife and I got our first full set of dishes came from a PREMIER Station close to our house we bought gas at.
If the world stands another 50 years people here may be crawling over each other like a bunch of ants BTU
t remember now it was Daly, thanks meaux for the help. He did live about 40 miles from New Orleans, about the same miles I live across Texas line from Shreveport. He said he drove some patients to Shriner hospital in Shreveport and asked thru a post if I ever came into Shreveport, I'm sorry I never made an effort to make connections (seems the story of my life). I'm in my 70's now and can see 80 peeping around the corner. Life is short compared to eternity and so often I find myself forgetting.
RDS seems to be hunting and fishing. Should don't count but it should be in the $90's I believe, if only it wasn't old hat and a tech instead.
Best to all friends on the board..
