You really aren't to smart as you just indicated again. You should just admit like gosking96 admitted to, that i know a lot more then they will ever know. It is so easy to find and operate that a kid could find and use it.

What about when an investment that generated UBTI is sold? Suppose, an IRA has a substantial investment in master limited partnerships that generated a few thousand dollars of UBTI each year. The IRA sells the MLPs at a gain. Is the capital gain UBTI? No. Only the business income generated by an investment is UBTI. Any capital gains from selling that investment are not UBTI.

When property that was financed with debt is sold, however, the capital gain from that sale is taxed as capital gains to the IRA. If the MLPs were purchased with margin loans, for example, the capital gains would be UBTI.

You want to know why this post doesn't exist. Because there has been a word which has been changed for yours and the others benefit and the whole post hasn't been shown.. Post the whole thing and the board will see that you have twisted that post and are the true deceivers. Oh yes you know it and so do the rest.

Oh I see the date makes the difference. You guys are so full of sh ee? it is unbelievable.
I have never admitted to writing what I paste. You take it and turn it around for your interpretation of defiling some one else. Wow you talk about far reaching from you for a explanation. Rkane has only posted and said what has been discussed here already. But I understand why you are what you are a confused person.

These fake posts of mine you keep putting here have been proven to be false. Just by putting in the date on yahoos advanced search engine which you and your buddies can't figure out this simple procedure. And as you stated above that I hoped all investors in LINN and LNCO would suffer.

What I actually stated was I hoped you and your gang of ingrates would lose everything not the millions that are invested in LINN and LNCO. Matter of fact I have wished everyone else here and outside of this MB, GL and was sorry to see people lose their retirements on LINNs deception of investors.
Enjoy your tax bill along with the rest of your gang that has invaded this MB. You deserve every penny you have lost you have earned that right.

And what about rkanes thread that he copied and pasted without the authors name. You going to criticize him. Or just be your standard hypocrite as you always are. ;0)ing as always as you keep falling face first into that pile of dung you like so much. Your stupidity is only matched by the others you agree with here. As you and the rest are the cause of these posts. Keep it up or let it go. The decision is yours along with the others here and they know who they are.
GLTA of the real good people here that have lost on LINN indiscretion of not telling the truth and not informing investors of their nasty trick.

The copy and paste police will get you for not showing the authors name of the article you copied. But then again they are all hypocrites anyway. As they accuse of course myself but not anyone else. Amazing how these stalkers work here. Thanks rkane and GLTU

Wrong..............And good luck with your belief. Everyone receives a K-1 no matter what. You are not exempt because you hold LINN in a retirement account.

You are screwed girl no way of getting out of this mess. All your bad attitude towards myself has caught up to you and your gang of misfits. To to bad , not.
Their are a few here not deserving of this mess LINN has done to their share holder but you aren't one of them and neither are the others associated with yourself. You are going down once again, beautch.

you must wait 31 days before buying Lnco.
Nope 2 different stocks even though LINN owns LNCO they trade under different symbols as you can see so no 31 day wait period.

But the collapse in oil and gas prices has exposed the structure’s double-sided risk: Investors with potentially worthless shares—or units, as they are known—may nonetheless owe taxes on debt that is forgiven in a bankruptcy or an out-of-court restructuring.

That is because MLPs pay no corporate taxes and instead pass certain tax burdens, along with a share of their income, to investors. Debt forgiven in a restructuring counts as noncash income, or “cancellation of debt income,” which creates a tax liability for investors without an associated cash distribution

However, management could have been more helpful and not blind-sided everyone - I think they are just really stupid.

    Couldn't agree more my friend.

Thanks, the good investors people/retired folks that got stuck not only with the unit price collapsing, all of a sudden get a malicious tax bill on top of the he SP decline. This management team over the past 2 years has blind sided a many retiree and their cash that they all have lost. I guess you also was one that got stuck as well. GLTU and to all of the really good people that got stuck. There are a few here that deserve what has happened but just a few and they know who they are. Thanks and GLTU and TA
