  • NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Ternium (NYSE:TX) has been upgraded by TheStreet Ratings from sell to buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its solid stock price performance, impressive record of earnings per share growth, revenue growth, attractive valuation levels and largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company shows regular operating cash flow
The stock has not only risen over the past year, it has done so at a faster pace than the S&P 500, reflecting the earnings growth and other positive factors similar to those we have cited here. Looking ahead, unless broad bear market conditions prevail, we still see more upside potential for this stock, despite the fact that it has already risen over the past year.
TERNIUM SA -ADR has improved earnings per share by 15.2% in the most recent quarter compared to the same quarter a year ago. The company has demonstrated a pattern of positive earnings per share growth over the past year. We feel that this trend should continue. During the past fiscal year, TERNIUM SA -ADR increased its bottom line by earning $2.32 versus $0.72 in the prior year. This year, the market expects an improvement in earnings ($3.15 versus $2.32).
Despite its growing revenue, the company underperformed as compared with the industry average of 4.7%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues slightly increased by 0.6%. This growth in revenue appears to have trickled down to the company's bottom line, improving the earnings per share.
The current debt-to-equity ratio, 0.37, is low and is below the industry average, implying that there has been successful management of debt levels

  • Investments will flow to Mexico, what is positive to Ternium

Meanwhile, the Mexican government hopes the nation's economy will grow nearly four percent this year and is looking forward to attracting significant investment due to a string of economic reforms passed by President Enrique Pena Nieto.

During meetings in Davos last week, multinational companies PepsiCo Inc (PEP.N), Nestle SA (NESN.VX) and Cisco Systems Inc (CSCO.O) announced major investments in Mexico that together totaled more than $7 billion.

  • It's really unbelieveble that after long 7 years of constant hard work, heavy investments, huge management effort in acquiring and optimizing so many steel plants in MEXICO, COLOMBIA, ARGENTINA, BRAZIL.
TX is still trading at 27's. Same price of 2006!! No doubt TX price is far far below from the reality of 2013.
This distortion is being corrected by this Strong Steep UP trend (began 1st Oct) and will leave TX around 40's again AT LEAST ... 2008's value. ... No big deal!

Have a look on Youtbe Ternium Pesqueri Nova Leon - MEGA FACTORY
