why cant you do an offering at 1? Its all the same. If you raise x at 1, it will be the same amount, just less shares at 4 or 6. Its stupid and a waste of money, time, and effort. I mean, at 4 or 6, does it make sppr a stronger company? NO WAY. If it costs them a dollar to do all this its a waste of a dollar.
you get what you deserve......stock on lows....many hotel reits on multi year highs......putting a reverse split on the proxy is literally one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen....hopefully when they report, the idea is dismissed completely by the board.

Im sorry, but that makes NO SENSE. The stock trades 14k shares a day...there is NOT a problem with too many shares out there...reduce shares and this stock will never trade...Its a waste of resources, energy, and paperwork. I do agree however, an offering of some sort is imminent sadly. And I am shocked no announcements on any hotels being sold last two months
I see they want to approve the ability to do a reverse split. Are you kidding me? This is so wrong for a number of reasons. First, nothing shows weakness/trouble more than a reverse split. Secondly, it accomplishes nothing. I know boards will say a higher stock price will allow certain funds to buy the stock but that is #$%$. If you have a good business, make money, and manage effectively, that will make bigger money buy the stock. Thats where the focus needs to be. This stock barely trades as it is, whats going to happen with 25-50% less shares out there. This is a no brainer VOTE AGAINST. I only hope theyre trying to get it approved so its there, and NOTdo it. Come on kelly, run the business, and dont play stupid games with stock price. Also they need to sell 2 hotels a month to get the 24 sold they want this year. So far this year only 2 sold. Now a reverse split authorization asked for. BAD MOVE.
I was kind of saying that tongue in cheek.....but if you look at old comments, it was said one midscale acquired for ever 4 or so low scales sold....i understand the debt reduction, but this isnt the transformation outlined.
Has this become one? Many lower end hotels sold, and only replaced with one mid scale.....HUGE offers for sale around 1.20.....not sure whats going on, but seems to me, a few more mid scales should have been acquired if the plan was still on track
well, id encourage you to listen to the conf call.....nothing of what you say was addressed. As I said, the impressive slideshow shows how well all their properties are doing. Obviously there are major problems in argentina, and it would have been nice if they gave some color to how it may or may not effect them....but were left to guess, and the market doesnt like ot guess....its cheap, but it will get cheaper.
This is one sick stock....listened to conf call and not one word mentioned about the state of affairs in aregentina....surely its not the 97% leased portfolio driving stock down, but more of the uncertainty in aregentina which they did not address...so, lower the stock goes.
its the velocity of the selling, and the size relative to the volume....its str down 30%.....and the size offers are increasing...I think its a great buy down here..new mngmt team is great...I just dont get after all they have been thru, what institution is selling now?..I bot today.
well, if all thats true, why is someone offering 30k shares a pop? Its an institution, not an individual most likely. They are coming out of this stock fast and furious.
hmm...profits were fair, but more troubling is not ONE WORD about whats is going on in argentina and the crashing of the stock....
