My thoughts exactly as I was reading more on the new APUs coming out. Apparently they've inked out even more power both in graphics and amd64/x86 processing at even lower power consumption. That could be a turning point for bringing advanced graphics to the x86 tablet front which would be ideal for the medical space that depends on advanced graphics for 3D imaging.
Frankly I'm long for a buy out of AMD's IP. With that said it's a testament to AMD current PPS that it's not tanking with everyone else in the market. You know why? Because currently AMD is priced considerably below it's value.
With AMD64 patent alone an investment firm could buy up AMD say it doesn't want to produce any chips and could care less about x86 cross license and charge Intel whatever they want to license AMD64 which Intel uses in ALL of their processors.
Now what can be done to improve AMD in the meantime? Simply focusing almost completely on SOC. Considering AMD's rise was a byproduct of government contracts they need to return to that. Because in government contracts lowest bidder wins, and AMD can give um whatever price point is needed to win.
but you play your game, I'll play mine, and we'll see what happens in the end.
Gladly keep buying blow 2 PPS. Keep shorting, your day of reckoning will come soon enough
Considering how horrible the global markets are I'm happy with AMD maintaining it as much as it can!
Can you do a fresh install or must it be upgraded? Can I upgrade then wipe and do a fresh install?
I want to image my system and use my free upgrade offer from win 7 to upgrade copy the key? then do a clean install. Or can I just choose a clean install from the start?
Curious to see how it plays out on my 8 core AMD FX and Dual crossfire Radeon 290s - thats right I drink my own coolaid lol. Although considering the cost difference it was a no brainer going with AMD hardware.
So why don't you explain why Intel basically helped start AMD and gave them x86 right after investigations into Intel monopoly with x86 started? You manipulate pure facts to cause concern, but this is basic public information. As is AMD64 being the 64bit architecture used by Intel, and Intel's manipulation and fines when the Athlon 64 was wiping the floor with Intel lol.
Really? So Intel didn't give AMD x86 for free and the company didn't start after an investigation into Intel's monoply of x86? Lol I think your the one that needs to educate themselves
You do know that AMD owns modern x64but processing right? It's cross licensed to Intel for their x86 compatibility but all modern systems use AMD64 including Intel systems. If AMD or any buy out company stops making x86 chips they could just basically ask any price to Intel for them to use 64bit instructions that Intel has been for nearly a decade and must continue to for compatibility purposes.
It was created by Intel to side step monopoly laws on account of x86 being the primary pc architecture. ARM does not account for any of the business segment and very little to no home computing. X86 still remains, then include the fact that x86-64 processing is still owned by AMD and cross licensed for x86 to Intel and you start to see why bk is out of the question. Any company could buy AMD, FIRE EVERYONE AND ONLY KEEP THE PATENTS for licensing and any new company would make a killing off Intel for 64but processing alone. AMD at below 2 is still a win, and I put my money where my mouth is. Shorts play a hard game because buy out results in a huge sudden rise where stop losses cant catch. GL longs
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Take a look at PATH I made a nice chunk on that because I knew their product was worth too much to other companies with the ability to grow. AMD LITERALLY CAN'T GO BK. It was created by Intel to side step monopoly laws on account of x86 being the primary pc architecture. That still remains, include the fact that x86-64 but processing is still owned by AMD and cross licensed for x86 and you start to see why bk is out of the question.
