actually they are in need of more chips as the retail sector was running low on APUs.. do your research bud
Look up the 2009 intel settlement. Intel beat AMD with completely illegal tactics that didn't allow AMD to compete then paid the massive penalty. If Intel did not break the law then AMD would be in a much better position. it's not fair to ask AMD or any company to break international laws to compete.
Honestly I love AMD and am a strong buy but I regret not selling before the last earnings. the market just does not give AMD any breaks when it comes to earnings. I was unfortunately on vacation and far to sure of myself. I'm in at 4.20. AMD has made me tons of money over the years though so it's all green. would have been nice to sell and pick back up at the sub 4.00 range. With that said I think we will hit 4.50 within a month or so. I'm not sweating just annoyed I can't ride the wave properly ;)
there won't be an offer below $12.00 assuming there is one. AMD's IP is much more vast and worth while then people know.
I take it you don't know that Google doesn't actually pick system specs for their Nexus product line. Manufacturers for it change weekly. Asus has done a few, as have LG and HTC
I agree but your forgetting SSE instruction sets.
I don't think you know what a monopoly is. Is there competition for their products? Yes. Is there open access to enter the business environment? (with advent of ARM yes of course). Are all companies able to offer their individual pricing for products (free market). Yes.. Well then this is FAAAR from a monoply.
Yea you're full of it too assuming your actually a different person.
They are making money on the pricing, besides if you want to talk about Predatory pricing Intel did just that and masked it with bonuses and rebates given to OEMs. They sold it then they gave a rebate that actually gave the OEM money to use their chips. To the point that the OEMs whole business model depended on Intel PAYING THEM to use their chips and not touch AMD. so you're really barking up the wrong tree here. AMD wouldn't give away their chips to manufacturers. it's a small margin for them but it's still profit. Get out of here with your #$%$ basher
it's an interesting situation. so if AMD decides to leave the x86 environment (which would require dropping the console chips as well) then they could also revoke their cross license of 64bit processors to intel which would basically cripple and bankrupt intel UNLESS they paid AMD basically whatever price AMD asks to license AMD64. All Intel chips currently sell with AMD64bit technology. However AMD can only use x86 base instruction set if they give Intel AMD64 bit. They basically have each other at the ropes end.
Now if AMD was to move to ARM and GPU only then they could do this. However they wouldn't be able to sell any more console chips as they use x86. But we would have a bigger issue in that Intel would then be a monopoly and forced to setup another AMD (Intel created AMD after the government forced them many moons ago).
So it's basically a stalemate at this point. However if AMD every was to go out of business or purchased by another company Intel would be in deep as they would be forced to pay whatever price asked for AMD64 IP purchase or licensing.
umm are you stupid? There is no barrier to entry that the competition can't meet. Pricing and availability are the biggest factors which is just free market. Your basically asking if they will be sued for playing within the free market. Nvidia and Intel both could have won the contracts but could not get to the price and performance needed to win.
As such this is in no way a monoply situation. Intel being the only provider of the X86 chip before creating AMD now that was a monoply
or like always when the market turns AMD does as well. Markets down on account of Fed announcement. Unfortunately It seems AMD gets it's run up right around the time the market turns! ugh
I really wish I knew who you worked for. looking at your post history it looks like a scheduled time posting. For example you will post at around the same times each day and throughout the day. Which makes me think you probably have multiple accounts that you jump from and pump or bash other companies also.. I'm going to investigate this further. You have a very common writing structure that I think i can start to link up with other accounts via a search tool I can write up to scan Yahoo, Fools, and Alpha forums. I've been working on it for some time as I've been getting annoyed with the paid pumpers and bashers mucking up any real worthwhile conversation regarding my investments.
You guys literally drown out and meaningful information. I believe once I can accumulate enough information on this industry practice and their employees I can bring a class action lawsuit to bring down this destructive business practice. Lawyers looove class action suits. I'm not so much warning you as letting you know it might be wise to consider a different employment avenue in the future.
Well with Intel no longer able to rig the market by literally paying companies out to not use AMD products it was only a matter of time till AMD made a come back. Now if we can just get the market to play nice so we can get our stock price back up that'd be great!
We will probably close at 4.09 tomorrow. I expect us to be at 4.20 by thursday. god knows what will happen Friday.
This down right stinks of institutional short covering. Short it to hell, cover down below and then go long. This crooks don't have to play by our rules. They got stuck with high loses and needed to get this down to 4.00 to cover. The dramatically increased volume speaks for itself. We'll see if this gets investigated or not, but in the mean time we have little recourse. God I hate the stock market sometimes!
Dude you've been bashing and stating you're short for some time now. If you mean you covered at 4.02 then that makes sense. But if you believe there is more down side why would you not keep your short? Such a troll you are.
