Maybe Dear Leader caught it on his laptop, while on the campaign funding trail, and will unleash his IRS cronies on them.

I think so too, but most strings are all about whining, doom and gloom, pain, and misery, and the sky falling. You'd think they were all booked on a Malaysian Airlines flight or something.

    Time to sell?

Oh heck no. If there's a buy, hold and accumulate stock, anywhere in this universe, this is it. BBEP is my 3rd largest holding. They'll slowly work towards their stated goal, of an 8% distribution, by share appreciation. And that's better that $25, as they raise the distribution every quarter. This management team is sharp, doesn't make horrible mistakes, and honestly, makes only really good moves. Sell a loser, take the loss, accumulate BBEP.

Where is this going, and why?

Write me down as not quite as pessimistic as others in this chain. I certainly understand the concept of selling on the rumors, and also scooping up some of your gains, to move elsewhere.

But... I see the recent strong movement up, as a sign that there's a seriously strong report coming on August 4th. They've had some time to monetize recent acquisitions, weather's been good, and until very recently, Nat Gas held a decent price, giving VNR time to hedge future draws, based on their new and improved output.
I also believe the talking heads are correct, when they say Nat Gas prices will be nearer to $6, when exporting LNG gets into gear.

I'm holding fast, and even added a little bit more, last week, at $31.90. VNR is my 2nd largest holding. I'm sure there will be peaks and valleys in the chart, but I suspect little chance of ending 2016 below $40 per unit. If my thoughts prove correct, and my math is any good, that's a roughly 17% compounded annual gain.
I'll take that, and sleep well.

Not seeing my reply post from a moment ago, Take 2, maybe I hit cancel ? TD Ameritrade hit me with a flat rate $38 reorganization fee. Very steep, considering that it was from 205 original shares of NRF. I'd never heard of it before, and wrote them to please reverse it. I'm not gonna hold my breath on that. BTW, I sold the NSAM shares, and bought more NRF, and LNCO with the proceeds.

  • I'm not as down on IRET as the market apparently is, after the quarterly report came out yesterday. A 3% loss today, on a rally day. I really was hoping for a good showing, not just long explanations. Gateway to the Bakken and all. I'm holding, accumulating (only) with dividend re-investments, and hoping management's plan gains traction.

Nothing wrong with holding both either. WPZ edged up again today (5-30-14) to become my 6th largest holding. KMI + KMP is my 4th biggest holding. I prefer investing my distributions, it's a personal preference, but I do have 3 holdings re-investing. KMR, unless I'm mistaken, pays only in shares. 2 of the mentioned 3, offer a unit/share discount on re-investments.

Yes, you should apologize. Well, except for the fact that any article by Barrons is basically most fit for printing, then cleaning #$%$ off the bottom of your shoe with.

jrad is correct-a-mundo. As a possible consolation prize though, you had decent timing, they're up more than the dividend today, on earnings, and best of all, you bought a small number of shares in a solid company. I've been working on ramping up BBEP from it's current place of being my (tie for) 6th largest holding.

Underground stock alerts is something you step on, curse aloud, and smear off onto a curb edge. If you want to Google something, in this case, it should be cleaning #$%$ off your shoe.

I'd posted in "Is this a serious miss" that I leaned towards selling after this report, if we maybe get any pop at all.
After a little more thought, I made that move in the after hours. If they're gonna pay an 11% dividend, and the dividend, optimistically, is .25, that makes NLY a $9.09 stock, in the very near term. Go ahead, give them some leeway, and figure they tank towards $10.
I took my lumps, and cleared the holding on this news. I never really liked the new management pay scheme, but I've held NLY for so long, I thought I'd give them a chance. Bad move. I really do wish you all luck though, and just post my moves, and my thoughts, as food for thought. Best Regards and Best Of Luck !

Well, bummer. This is a serious miss. I'd hoped, prayed really, that the new management would show me something. I guess they did, huh ? With the new and creative management fee structure, not really sure they care very much that they pile drove the earnings. Digging Mike Farrell up, propping him up with strings, and having him throw darts at business directions, would bring better results than the new, shielded management did this quarter. I'll be looking at selling at any, hopeful gain, in the near future. Good luck to us all.

I like the company, and have a modest holding, so I mostly agree with your thoughts. You do seem pretty infantile though, replying to yourself, frequently, but especially, by referring to yourself in the 3rd person, like Barry Bonds or someone ego-inflated. I've clicked "Buy", but in the mid 13's, I'd have that as a hold/buy. Dipping under 13 makes it more of a buy, to me.

It may take another 1/4 to fully digest their recent purchases and swaps. Better weather will help too. There'll certainly be no excuses to fall back on next 1/4. And I agree, the numbers for this quarter seem pretty disappointing, especially as VNR is my 2nd biggest holding.

  • Gotta love the new pattern of raising the distributions, after a long stagnation. Don't forget, ETP is a leader in the re-investment game too, they re-invest for you at a 5% discount to share price. I have TD Ameritrade re-invest only the companies I hold, that offer a discount. Only 2 do, ETP and IRET. Good luck to longs !!
