I am long on NRGY and have been for about three years and am now convinced that the current management is out of touch with the needs of the company and the stockholders. If everyone else is profitable and you cannot make money, you may have lost the handle on it and I think that this is what has happened. J C Penneys comes to mind at this point. They like NRGY seem to have the attitude that we may not know where here are going but we are making good time anyway.
I have been long in nrgy for over 12 years and am NOT impressed with management for a couple of years now. I am comming to the conclusion that either they do not understand this business or else they sit in a closed room and make big decisions out of thin air. When I look at their compitition, they are lacking.
After a half century in management, I am appaled that our "modern" management does not understand BUS 101. That says that the only reason any company is in business is to make a profit for its owners-not to be a wonderful person and wonderful citizen. If you can do both fine-just have never seen it done sucessfully. Management needs to return to basics. I have seen some "old style" managers who could wring money out of a rock. That is what we need now. If a division or manager cannot make money-they or it has to go.
