it does cost money and reputation
check the Tesla Blog site. Some car owners can't charge their car after software changes made by Tesla
I read most of the issues. Very low mileage on most cars with problems. Less than 15000 miles
Agree 100%. Consumer Report issued a report with the heat and 30 degrees their test vehicle lost 3 miles for every mile driven.
if the people in the car burn up. the fire may be the drivers fault but the outcome is the same
good point. Reading the Tesla forums - amazing the low miles on these cars. Numerous problems with cars under 10000 miles.
This stock reminds of Iomega ? memory stock back in 1998-2000
Tesla filed a new patent yesterday. This patent monitors batteries for heat, short circuits and problems. The patent said lithium batteries are dangerous and can explode, ignite or catch fire during a collision, puncture or damage to the battery.
IMHO the attorneys were just handed Tesla's admission of guilt
If Tesla provided free electricity for life, the car is not competitive ($$$) within the mass market.
For alternative fuel cars to gain mass market net cost has to provide some monetary benefit.
Hydrogen/ Nat Gas/ Electric ect
Got to admit I'm loosing my faith in GREED
Thought some large short would creates some fires by now
did you see the Consumer Reports article published last week?
" at 30 degrees with the heat on the car lost 3 miles for every mile driven i.e. 300 mile rated is really 100 mile range.
Tesla released a video (last week) of a guy in Norway traveling in 0 degree weather stating the battery lost 15% (?) of capacity. Heater on?
what happens if the current (model S) lithium ion battery cell pack is punctured but no component short just chemical change or loss
what do you think about remarks Elon has made about battery shortage?
? Elon hedging - not sure what battery to choose / design
? knows the limitations of current battery - not sure what battery to use in next generation cars products
? supply is a problem
? cost is a problem
Can any comparisons be made to a lithium ion battery and a normal 12 volt battery found in a car.
Compare temperature, road conditions, vibration ect
.Also- any real world historical data
I understand these batteries are very different in construction
Attorney's do not discriminate. Every deep pocket gets invited to the lawsuit.
Cost of doing business in the USA. California may be the most litigious state in the union.
Reason numerous manufacturers wave the white flag.
IMHO- Tesla has been 100% Teflon regarding all bad PR.
