I write this to hopefully reach Wal-Mart upper management not just one store, where it goes no further but reach every store with auto bays.

I bought a new tire for my Pontiac Montana. A Wal-Mart Tech put the small donut tire back on the tire and installed the new tire. Two weeks after the new tire was installed the spare donut tire fell off from underneath our van as I traveled out our long 500 foot driveway. If I had been on a busy street or freeway and the tire fell from our van could have caused a major accident, possible injury or loss of life. I complained about this and the assistant manager called me at home. I was busy at the time and said I would call him back but didn't. After inspecting the the crank that lets the tire down(a spring that puts tension on the tire when it is tightened) every thing was fine. The only thing I can conclude is that they didn't make sure that the spring/ bracket that should be centered wasn't centered and tightened to make the donut tire tight and secure underneath the vehicle. Wal-Mart can you Please instruct your Techs to make sure that spring/bracket that hangs down is centered in the middle hole of the rim when the tire is lifted into place and tightened securely. Sometimes the tool that spins the crank isn't in the slot and the tire isn't lifted and secured tightly. A busy tech might think the tire is secure when it is not. Wal-Mart Please make ALL your technicians check to make sure the tire doesn't move and the spring/bracket is tightly centered otherwise the tire will fall off. There wasn't any damage to our vehicle or problem with the tire afterwards. Thanks Wal-Mart!!!
