Today would be perfect - anyway when the daytraders go the trend will be continuing up
Perusing the msg board after voicing my complaint the past cpl days about the "upgrade" in the Va/D.C. area and happened uon this.
I did work for CC for 18 mos in the New Eng area which oddly enough was under the Central Region, for whatever reason I can't recall.
I worked inbound sales calls, but for a few months 'did time' taking Cust Serv inbound calls. - There are a crap-load of cust complaints no doubt, but, I did find Comcast was fair and reasonable to customers with legit complaints. ( I was going to say fair and balanced but why open that Pandora's box huh? )
But they are a corporation, every penny counts, and this is America..right?
A big problem IMO is in the inbound sales dept you were constantly being squeezed harder and harder to get every penny out of every customer on every call. Or you would pay the price, financially and pressure-wise weekly or daily from lower mngmnt.
Every call was recorded and.. hmmn ,well, I'm not going to get into much more detail..but suffice to say hopefully last night's meal was no problem because even our bathroom breaks, ( called Bio-Breaks ) were timed, and mandated strictly, even down to the seconds at times.
But beyond that I had a friend that worked for VZ on their outside sales and from what he told me they sounded more problematical for customers as far as cust relations, billing
issues, and installation nightmares.
It all of course comes down to the Almighty dollars and I expect it may get worse rather than better for customers with both companies.
Comcast was good and fair to me as an employee, but the Corporate pressures while I was there caused a HUGE employee malaise, and I had to leave for sanity's sake.
Well I maybe I do have a subpar intelligence as I was stupid enough to spend a year and a half working inside sales for Comcast in New England - Honestly I liked the other people, including middle and upper mngmnt I met while there.
But the corporate portion of the job that micro managed us was beyond anal.
Now I'm in the D.C. area , and they have just this past wknd instituted this "upgrade" I have spoken of. - You'll find out soon, I'm sure. Unless this is being used as a test market site...and they're waiting to see how much vomit it expells before making their decision to mass it across their system, which is segmented into regions.
Judging by the Comcast tech I spoke w on the phone, or rather vented to on the phone, I am not the only jaded one out there. As he confided he felt the same way, which was either ballsy, or stupid...because Comcast records EVERYTHING.
I do admit the stock has done v well since I originally started with them in Oct 09 esp in this market.
But then again they are a corporation to the nth degree, and I trade, so I guess I'm part of the problem too.
Equivilant of what you would expect in a 3rd world country.
Along with making the DVR programming more difficult worse they also have it so there is a garish blue and green bar that scrolls continuously along the entire width of the bottom of screen now if you try to slow or stop the program.
For ex; If you employ slo-mo or pause, to read the info from a foreign movie, or the writing explaining additional circumstances from the History channel such as "I Survived" as it pertains to something in the programming, you not only have the bar there, but it is of course blocking what you are trying to read.
Additionally if you go to record a portion of a show as we tried to do with a segment of 60 Minutes tonight it is no longer possible to do. You can only tape the entire show now, and also now,if you are trying to stop recording a show, the only way to do it is by completely erasing the show. - It was just fine before, the system they had, now it is so much worse. My wife is distgusted too, and we wonder what the heck we are paying for?
We are either going for Satellite or just start using the internet for programming as my neighbor and my kids suggest.
The DVR is the main reason we even have Comcast, and now they have just gone and degraded the value of it. Bizarre !!
after all the trials Huge and then the Govt approval phases !
even then though..
the odds are always about 10 to 1 abainst of any Biotech getting all the way through the process and approved
even much less likely for a blockbuster
but PRAN has a legit shot
