    Massive Volume

obviously it was a matched trade, had to have the buyer lined up. I suspect it was someone like a Neuberger and Invesco that has been getting out. And don't forget, for every seller there is a buyer. I wouldn't read much into this other than rotation of shareholders.

    $200,000,000 dilution in sight?

Counter-intuitive, but the market is cheering that TNK can access capital. That the market is open and enthusiastic ($200mm is a nice nut for this size co.) to invest in TNK is seen as good. And these equity raises currently only go hand in hand with a targeted asset purchase, so it indicates that TNK has a growth gambit in the works.

    Recent Volume

I disagree. The volume has been static more or less since Feb, the last few days here in June have seen a spike. I think NNA has come off b/c they/ve bought a a bunch of VLCCs right into the teeth of a VLCC spot downturn, and traders fled. The volume spike may mean that VLCC players might be coming back or there is some other wave that people see starting to gain traction. I don't know why, but I know every jot and tittle of this sucker's trading patterns, and this seems like something noteworthy to me.

  • Just FYI...average volume since Jun6 of 600k is double ave vol since beginning of the year, 300k.

Does anyone care about this stock

Sure. I have a lot of shares. The Statoil deal is giving this play another chance after the co couldn't do much with their own drilling. We'll see. Statoil needs to drilling something other than dry or faulty holes. If they do, the stock will move, but not until they do.
