I think we all can agree that it is time for Ron to go. Who is defending this performance? How long will it take for this board to realize that shoving an outdated US strategy on the rest of the world in a micro managed style does not work? you have an extremely poor management team trying to execute an outdated strategy and the results are predictable. Look how many Americans are working in international these days? A huge chunk of the leadership is trying to shove "the staples way" down these countries' throats and they have no clue that the people internationally do not buy in at all.

    Sentiment: Sell

when will Ron S be let go? he is continuing more of the same. Poor performance time and again with no change in strategy. Morale is at an all time low in this company and performance will continue to reflect that until real change occurs in management and strategy.

    Sentiment: Sell

Good luck buying that POS. Remember this post as this company is about to crumble. The CEO is the most unethical man in business. He fired highly qualified leaders across the board in the last year knowing the business was being sold and hired: His son, daughter in law, 2 brothers (one of which requires an oxygen tank when he goes on sales calls), and his 2 out of work best friends and gave them all big grants of stock options. He also paid a SR VP to fly to Cleveland from Raleigh every week so he would have someone to go drinking with after work. Look on the web site and see how many jobs CL had in the last 5 years. This business will collapse certainly.

"Our second quarter results fell short of our expectations due to softer than expected sales trends in North America and ongoing weakness in Europe and Australia,” said Ron Sargent, Staples’ chairman and chief executive officer."

How much longer should we sit back and wait. this arrogant POS company has lost its way yet RS blindly stands behind his management team and makes no attempt to change course or bring in new ideas. When none of the companies entities has a good quarter (NAD, International, Retail etc) has any momentum to hang on to, that points clearly to lack of leadership and strategy. Am i missing the boat here?

Pay attention to this hire. He made Corp Ex a ton of money with improved private label and merchandising strategy.

Hey David (i mean 2 dogs) what is your back up plan if you dont get paid out on this? I mean you lost your whistle blower status so you will not get the big bucks you were hoping for. You have no job or money or life. Is it worth it or should you maybe move on to something else in your life?

You are no expert, just a whiny former sales rep who could not cut it with the big boys. you complain about Staples as a horrible place, and then you post on the BUH (Corp Exp) board about how horrible they are. Sounds to me like you are just a former industry veteran who can't keep up with the changes in the industry. Face it, you just were not good enough.
