Basing your investments on someone else's position is not wise. IDIX at over $1b valuation is a joke and now that their hail mary of a patent suit was intercepted in the end zone it's over for them
bios are actually up huge today...RPRX however
Well your point was that RPRX is down because of the stock market so I was pointing out that this is a completely and utterly false statement. The biotech index is up over 2% right now. That's my point.
Wait when is this alleged "FDA Approval" supposed to happen djw?
The stock is currently just mirroring biotech market doofy. If RPRX ever releases a PR (probably illegal they haven't yet) about their new ph3 trials it will be back to sub 15 in no time. Pretty amazing the cap is still $400m.
Actually it says a possible takeover if the data is good. If the data continues to be as boring and dull like the results yesterday, don't count on it. Again, I think some on this board have reading comprehension issues.
The science is garbage though. They're a poor man's version of ENTA which is half the cap as IDIX. Klarman saved this pig from being sub 5 right now with that 6.50 offering.
According to the clinical trials web site the ph3 trials were supposed to start in december... Maybe they couldn't attain enrollment?
regardless of the stock price, it basically puts any FDA decision on approval at mid 2015 at minimum. But you don't care about that anyway, now do you DJW
I don't go long in companies with horrendously overvalued valuation and sub-par IP in a space they are years behind.
I have a few questions that you will surely ignore DJW. Where is the PR for the new ph 3 trials? Why doesn't RPRX have a big pharma partner if the drug is anything but snake oil?
Post JPM blues.
IDIX revealed nothing but mediocre to bad data on Monday and the Wed presentation was equally as ho-hum. Why would it continue going up? $900m cap for a long shot patent battle doesn't sound like a wise investment to me.
Oh the study hasn't been opened to recruitment yet... I guess that means they're already behind schedule.
I do not have a science background, but I have been trading biotech for years and follow the space closely. Garbage is an excessive term, fine. I think they have a shot of success their pan-geno combo, but any value there is already built into the crazy $1.1b market cap and then some. They are also completely pigeon holed by NVS and burn through money like crazy. Even with Klarman's $100m that still only puts them halfway into 2015 before they have to raise again (the thing IDIX is best at is dilution).
This is in complete contrast to ENTA (and IDIX is copying ENTA/ABBV now with that 3-DAA nuke-FREE combo) who continues to have great success in the clinic with an extremely sound business model. ENTA will also enter the market years before IDIX yet they are nearly half the cap of IDIX.
The patent case is nothing but a hail-mary. Never bet on the courts for anything and GILD patents are quite strong.
Like I said earlier, Klarman has saved this stock from being sub 5 again. I admit it's curious as to what he finds so intriguing about IDIX which is why I covered my short yesterday. No reason for me to fight the tape
Do you really think the FDA will approve a new testosterone drug any time soon while they're investigating the current ones?
IDIX does not respond rationally and retail goes in a frenzy because Klarman is involved. I have better places to put my $
