"Todays share of North America 12% with big taxpayers loss!"
Yo're SUCH an idiot and a LIAR. Turds like you give decent bashers a bad name...
Here's a jeye post you need to UNDERSTAND and acknowledge.
It was a raving success and will continue to be so. You haven't seen all over what Akerson and the executive leadership is putting in place.
You're dang right it was a success despite all the pundits and morons like you...
Your IQ must still be in grade school...
You REALLY think that Tesla and/or Fisker had the leadership to take on GM's operations? Heck, what about Ford taking over GM's operations? Do you think THEY had the leadership numbers to REALLY pull off what has been a very successful restructuring? Didn't EACH of those entities really have enough to do on their own and still command the GM brands that current maintain 18-20% of the US market share let alone the global share?
Heck, I'll go further and suggest that ANY entity that took over all or part of GM's operations could NOT have maintained what GM is currently clicking away at. In fact, there is no way in heck that ANY entity would have taken over all/part of GM's operations without, say, at LEAST $10B in federal $$.
We're better off the way it is and it's worked out very well thank you. Now, just shut the heck up.
her supporters don't post dumb stuff...
But, toyoDUH didn't announce any recalls this week (BIG surprise), the stock/ADR was down 4 out of the last 5 days (DOWN for the week) and is DOWN 5.5% from the August 2nd high.
Oh well. Maybe next week will be more exciting...
Sentiment: Strong Sell
On this post, I had to give rdh a thumbs up. This is just one more thing that will seal obumble's fate as a total FAKE.
So, let's that this question a bit further: What HAS Obama done? Meaning, what has he done for the American people? For the country? What POSITIVE mark will be on his presidency?
I can think of 1.5 things and that is IT...
"There could have been other US car companies already operating would have LOVED to take over GM's market share, make use of their factories, and make cars people actually WANT."
Oh DO #$%$...
NO ONE was knocking at the doors offernig to buy GM's assets at that time. Besides, the Feds had a real interest in SAVING the US auto industry. So, bag it on those points. Regarding making cars that people actually want? Bag it there too real_dyck_head because MORE folks want GM products EVERY SINGLE MONTH as shown by the sales results.
"Before you laugh at that, it's exactly what Tesla is doing in a former GM plant."
Big deal - I LAUGH at THAT point because it happened ONCE here in the US as far as I know AND how many vehicles does Tesla produce? Can they do 18-19% of all market share of the US market? Not a chance. And no one else would have either.
In the meantime, GM has done VERY well after the restructuring and great products to prove it. The PROOF continues to be the monthly sales where GM kicks everyone's butt.
Strike three - you're COMPLETELY out...
One more final comment before the expected barrage of moronic replies. This quote is directly from the Treasury:
"Our goal was never to make a profit," said a Treasury official who requested anonymity. "It was to save the U.S. auto industry."
And save it they did - and VERY successfully I might add.
One quick update on the farmer's math assumption - take the # of INDIVIDUAL taxpayers down to 100M...
Another item to consider are the business entities that ALSO pay federal income tax. There are 18.2M business entitiies in the US of which about 75% actually pay federal taxes. So, individuals plus businesses that pay federal taxes comes up to about 114M.
So, that farmer's math works out to be about $87 per federal taxpayer for the "save".
P.S.S. Now, don't forget to do some farmer's math on what the decline in tax revenue would have been if the US auto industry would have failed...
Jack Welch called it!
The dumbocrats would have done ANYTHING to keep obumble in office...
it appears we have another MORON on the board who just doesn't GET it. How about you do a little farmer's math and get back to us, OK?
Here are some hints:
- figure out how many taxpayers there are (current US population is 317M - I assumed only 150M taxpayers)
- figure out cost per taxpayer
- acknowledge that there have been 330,000 auto jobs ADDED since the industry crash and 2 BKs (GM & Chry)
- assume a VERY conservative $60K average annual wages and 30% federal tax on those wages
- ramp up that job # over the last 4 years
- put your tail between your legs, wipe the egg from your face and have a heaping helping of humble pie
There are SO many other intangibles that benefitted from the US auto industry "save" that you clowns just don't get. You have to look past what you didn't like about it and understand the bigger picture and the significant effect is continues to have on our GDP as well.
Look, I do NOT like unions either but I believe, and others here do too, that their time, and influence, is waning and will continue to do so. They will NOT be allowed to hold any entitiy hostage like they've had in the past. They might win some battles here and there but they will NEVER again win the war.
"Good luck hauling in the SUVs you moron."
Really? This just shows that you're really not that sharp. GM's full-sized SUVs are EXTREMELY capable towing vehicles. What the heck do you think is used to tow a lot of boats around here?!?!?!? And travel trailers!!!! You LOSE this part of your stupid post...
"You just not happy"
Nice english skills there moron.
"that Ford has sold more pickups on planet earth for the last 32 years!"
The F-150 has had a good run but you MISSED the point of MY post where I asked to you bet on how many FULL-SIZED pickups and SUVs GM offers/sells as compared to Ford. You lose on this part of your stupid post as well...
"Pickups are Fords cash cow!"
On this we can agree - pickups are REALLY important to OEM profitability, both for Ford and GM. Did you notice that GM revealed the new Colorado for '15? And that the Canyon will be right behind it? Guess what - add that volume to GM's full-sized pickups and GM will be #1 in pickup sales quite easily...
Would you like to place a bet on how many full-sized pickups and SUVs that GM sold last year vs. Ford? It's not about ONE model you moron...
"The new Colorado bootleg photos I've seen ALL look better than the 2014 Silverado."
The official "reveal" just happened (9:30 your time) and the photos are out there. I think it looks good too.
This bodes well for GM - I think GM will smack toyoDUH with a 2x6 upside the head. The GMC version will be revealed in the next couple of months, from what I recall.
"One guy claimed the salesman at the Chevy dealer even thought the new Silverado was ugly."
But, he still bought the truck anyways.
Good for GM.
But GM will happily sell 10's of thousands every single month.
And make a decent profit on every one.
probably - Wall Street sees this as GM taking the battle DIRECTLY to toyoDUH. And GM will win this segment...
Why do ALL other OEMs do this as well? I think you need to go to the Ford board immediately and rail over there about the '15 Mustang that's getting revealed on Dec 5th.
Hurry on over there now. In fact, just stay there please.
